I agree with soccene - back labour sucks!!! It hurts sooooo bad. Nothing i did during my labour helped to deal with the pain.

Also back labour (from what i understand) meant that for me, although i was in a ton of pain, and had been having contractions for 2 days, the contractions werent dilating me effectively.

I had to stand for most of my labour, though i collapsed onto my knees or into a squat for all my contractions.

But i made it through in the end!!!

All I had was back labor.  I was wondering what the front felt like.  It was very painful sharp pains in my lower back.  The pains would shoot all the way down my legs.  I couldn't stand up during a contraction.  The best thing for me was to find a wall and squat.  It sucked.

I also had bad back labor and couldn't stand up during and barely even after my contractions. I didn't understand how women could walk the hallways during their labors!

Getting in a warm bath helps and there is a position called the 'Texas Roll' where you lay a certain way on your side that is supposed to help turn the baby and relieve back labor.

I had back labor with my 2nd and it is far worse than front labor. Pain is a sharp stabbing pain in the lower back it felt like my back was being ripped open. Sorry don't want to scare you.

i had back labor and it feels like the kind of cramp you get when running except its not on your side its in your lower back, or to better describe it, like a jolly horse cramp you might get in your leg, your lower back will tighten up so much that you cant focus on anything else, bending over, arching your back, walking, sitting, almost nothing will completely rid the contractions, just breath through them.
