What dessert goes well after a main course of tilapia? Thank you!?

I am hosting a dinner party and need a nice dessert to follow. Wine suggestions also welcome. Thank you!!

  1. How about a fruit torte? you could pick one up in any  deli/bakery, light and delicious..

  3. I would say something light-how about mousse or some type of mousse pie and a nice white. A few that I like:King Estate (Pinot Grigio) and  LaCrema Chardonnay.

    This is a wonderful, do-ahead recipe that everyone loves:

    LEMONADE PIE

    1 large container Cool Whip

    1 (6 oz) can frozen lemonade (or limeade), thawed, undiluted

    1 can Eagle Brand condensed milk

    1 9" graham cracker crust

    shaved almonds to garnish

        Mix together Cool Whip, lemonade & condensed milk and pour into pie crust.  Sprinkle with almonds.  Chill at least 4 hours before serving.....

    PEACH BRANDY CAKE

    1 (21 oz.) can peach pie filling

    1 pkg. yellow cake mix

    3 eggs

    1/4 c. peach or plain brandy

    1/4 c. oil

    powdered sugar (to dust on top when cool)

        Whirl pie filling in blender.  Pour it into a mixing bowl and add rest of ingredients (except powdered sugar).  Beat very well, until thoroughly mix.  Put into greased & floured bundt pan.  Bake at 350 for 1 hour .....  Cool and dust with powdered sugar

  5. a small french creme pastry, or something with chocolate if the fish was prepared spicy.

  6. lemon meringue, a fruit tart/torte, fresh fruit topping over vanilla ice cream, sorbet, key lime pie. their all light, refreshing, and sweet.

  7. RHUBARB CUSTARD PIE

    1 pie shell, unbaked

    2-3 c. rhubarb, cut up

    CUSTARD:

    2 egg yolks, beaten

    1/2 c. milk

    1 tbsp. cornstarch

    1 tbsp. flour

    1/4 tsp. salt

    3/4 c. sugar

    MERINGUE:

    2 egg whites, beaten stiff

    Pinch of salt

    2 tbsp. sugar

    Fill pie shell to level with cut rhubarb. Mix together all custard ingredients and pour over rhubarb. Bake at 425 degrees for 10 minutes. Reduce heat to 350 degrees and bake until rhubarb is tender.

    For meringue add sugar and salt to stiff egg whites and blend with beater. When custard is set, spread meringue around edge of pie and return to oven for 12 to 15 minutes.

  8. How about some sorbet with fresh berries?

    Or just the berries soaked in a little Grand Marnier or Amaretto topped with fresh whipped cream?

    Serve with a nice Proseco

  9. fresh raspberry shortake with real whipped cream.  Drizzle chocolate sauce on the plate before you put the shortcake down.
