  1. Our brain detects anything that happens in our body.

The body has the autonomic nervous system, which has two parts, the sympathetic and parasympathetic divisions. These both reacts every now and then and propagates that autonomic antagonism, which tries to balance anything in the body.

  2. Your pet detects it; petting your pet makes it better.

  3. That depends on the disturbance.

The human body has many different receptors, and mechanisms for detecting disturbances.

    For example,

Pain/force on the skin is picked up by receptors just under the skin (e.g. Merkel Cells, which are nerve endings)

Virus/Bacteria are detected by circulating white blood cells.

In general, most disturbances are detected by the nervous system, which sends signals to the brain. The body usually responds by signalling the release of some chemicals/hormones (or possibly white blood cells).

Keep in mind, this is a very broad generalization, and there are many different ways the body deals with problems.

  4. A doctor (medical) is my guess.
