Does it matter HOW long you've known a person.. ??

Does it matter if u know the most about them more than anyone else?

Does it matter if u are with them a lot and hangout with them(but u have to consider that some ppl have protective parents)? Does it matter if u guys talk on the phone for hours? Does it matter if u guys make plans for the future?(e.i. plan a vacation together, etc.) How do u know when u have a best friend...? and do any of the things i mentioned above matter????

  1. A best friend isn't about how long you've known the person, or about how much you know about them(although it helps), A best friend is someone who is going to be by your side through everything, the good and the bad, someone who will stick up for you and lend you a shoulder to cry on. Someone who is going to help you through the hard times and who respects you for who you are, not how you dress, what you look like, how much money you have, how many friends you have ETC.. You'll know when you've a true friend.

  2. It doesn't matter how long you've known the person; time isn't really important. Some of the best friends a person can have are people that they have just met and connected with. Knowing the most about them is probably a quality of a best friend because they wouldn't tell you that if they didn't trust you, and trust is a best friend quality. Being with them a lot could be too, because you share the same interests and obviously get along very well, and can be happy when your together (same with talking on the phone). Making plans for the future seems like you guys already know that you have a solid relationship and plan to keep the friendship going for many more years; that's great! You know that you have a best friend when you have someone that:

    - you can trust

    -you can be honest with

    -you can get along with

    - you can talk to

    - when silence is comfortable

    - give & receive advice

Mainly, it's something that you have to figure out for yourself./ What qualities are important to you in a friend? Once you figure this out, you'll be able to decide for yourself whether or not this friend is truly a best friend. I hope this helps! =)

  3. all the things you've listed above matter. you know you have a best friend if you say "when we graduate we're going to... (destination)" a best friend understands you and never talks bad behind your back to other people. when she mad she talks to either you or keeps it to herself. she always wants whats best

  4. To me a best friend  is someone that you can  share and be your  true self around, and you both completely accept each other for who you are unconditionally.A best friend is someone that you can trust completely, someone who is honest ,loyal, and there through thick and thin no matter what.Someone you can share your joys and sorrows and your deepest secrets with and not have to be concerned with being betrayed. Also a best friend also tells you what you need to hear and not always what you want to hear.In short someone to laugh and cry ,hang out, talk  and hopefully grow up and grow old with.

  5. I can tell my best friend she's full of it and she doesn't hate me for it. I can also tell her anything under the sun and it goes no further then her.

  6. Best friends never tell other people your secrets and they are loyal to you. They never backstab you and you can tell them anything and their the ones you like hanging with the most.

I don't think it matters how long you've known them but obviously you'd have to known them long to really know them.

I think all the above is right.
