  1. Many recruits-to-be frequently ask if they can pick which post they want to go to.  Usually, you'll get sent whereever there's a slot open...it's pretty much mathematical. Some recruits will also just let their recruiter know which one they prefer, and are granted that wish.  It won't hurt to ask but don't expect to get what you ask for. Schools are based on ATRRS dates.

Now it also could be dependent on which MOS your boyfriend is going for. If he is trying for Infantry he will go to Ft Benning GA.  If he is trying Artillery he will go to Ft. Sill, If he is trying for an Armor MOS he will go to Ft Knox Kentucky but not sure on the dates they are moving the armor school to Benning in 2009 supposedly. Ft Leonard Wood Missouri has the school for Engineers, Chemical and Military Police.  All of these MOS's have what is called OSUT or one station unit training meaning they will conduct basic training and ait back to back at the same duty station with no break between.  If not one of these MOS's then he can be sent to any of the above for basic training.

  2. It depends on your s*x and MOS.

  3. Where you live is a factor. Who has slots is a factor. And the cost of transportation, lodging, food, etc.

  4. MOS usually, combat arms are OSUT or one station unit training, ex. infantry MOS's go to Ft Benning GA, armor to Ft Knox Ky, artillery to Ft Sill Ok. Support MOS's usually go to Ft Jackson, SC or Ft Leonard Wood, MO.

Ok, so it's more than likely Ft Jackson, then he'll do AIT at Ft Huachca AZ, then airborne at Benning.

  5. Whichever MOS (Military Operations Speciality) he signs up for determines it. Infantry usually go to Fort Benning, Georgia for training. My husband went airborne after infantry training and is currently stationed at Fort bragg in North Carolina.

And to Kevin down below me...way to copy someone elses answer. You typed the second paragraph after reading everybody else's answers and you even copied the majority of the person's answer above me. Do your own research!
