What device do i need to record something directly from my tv?

i want to record myself playing a video game but i don't know what to use

WHAT!!! you dont know what a VCR is.

A VCR or a DVD recorder.  You aren't recording from the TV, you're recording from the video game or whatever source provides the TV picture.

Okay we'll try and keep this simple. Your TV should have an output. Most have a yellow jack, a red jack and a white jack. You could run those into a VCR, DVD recorder, or PC interface card. It it is something different email me and let me know and we'll try to figure it out.
