And what did Heathcliff die of too? Did he die of starvation? I want medical reasons, but I'd also like to know how you think they killed themselves.

  1. Because Catherine is such a weak person, she makes herself ill when Linton and Heathcliff get into a fight. The cause of her death is not known; the novel just says that she is ill. I cannot remember much about Heathcliff or if they did kill themselves.

  2. she died shortly after childbirth, in 1784 , 19 years old

Not a very good answer but i couldnt find much

  3. Catherine died from an infection after giving birth. Heathcliffe becomes demented and dies after refusing food and medical care.

  4. When Heathcliff returns after three years she renews their friendship, which makes Edgar unhappy. Always on the edge of madness, her physical and mental health are destroyed by the feud between them, and she descends into prophetic madness before dying in an angelic state shortly after childbirth at about nineteen.

Her stressful life caused her death at childbirth.
