  1. The main factors of Freud is all about the mind/the psyche. The unconscoius mind conflicts with itself. The oedipus and elektra complex (the boy unconcsiouly falling in love with the mum, the girl subconsiously falling in love with the dad). The mechanism of repression - repressed memories can lead to personality problems.

  2. He said lots of stuff.

  3. These are few quotes I picked for Sigmund Freud:

    - A belligerent state permits itself every such misdeed, every such act of violence, as would disgrace the individual.

    - A civilization which leaves so large a number of its participants unsatisfied and drives them into revolt neither has nor deserves the prospect of a lasting existence.

    - A man should not strive to eliminate his complexes but to get into accord with them: they are legitimately what directs his conduct in the world.

    - America is a mistake, a giant mistake.

    - Children are completely egoistic; they feel their needs intensely and strive ruthlessly to satisfy them.

    - Dreams are often most profound when they seem the most crazy.

    - Flowers are restful to look at. They have neither emotions nor conflicts.

    - If youth knew; if age could.

    - Neurosis is the inability to tolerate ambiguity.

  4. your most likely talking about the Oedipus theory...

its messed up mind, but i'll continue.

Its how men, go through a stage of jealousy, and a fear of castration before they grow up...this is often used in literature, even when about literature, its part of one of the Critical theories.

so, in most senses, about loosing man hood, be it physical, or mental. yea....

just stuidied today this critical theory stuff today
