What did Megumi Tanaka drink to kill herself in the movie Shutter?

i remember thinking she was going to turn around and attack them. then her skin was gone and it was just horrid. for me anyways! i'm just wondering, what did the bottles say that the man was reading? i was trying to remember it so i could look it up later. i was confused as to why drinking that would make her look like that.

does anyone know what it is? and if you know anything about it could you clue me in? i think it was something carbon. but i'm not sure.

but she looked like that because she died a while ago and was decaying
