We were not Muslims.. some followed other religions like christianity etc. Some worshiped idols. It was pretty bad in Arabia.

If you've ever studied pre-Islamic arabia? It was called Jahilya, meaning the time of ignorance. They used to worship idols, totamism, stars etc. It was chaos. some had a slight believe in 1 God.

i think when you said muslims you meant believers...i think they were christians, cause christianity used to be the right religion...islam is now though..hope that helped :)

I don't know that there were Muslims before Mohammed.

The Qur'an explains clearly that all the prophets came with the same message to worship one God, and not to associate partners in worship, and therefore Islaam was the message from the time of Adam, except it has been completed for us through the last prophet and messenger of Allah, Muhammad.

So according to this, many Muslims before believed in One God, and the coming of a prophet from the brothers of hibrew, and the coming of Eesa Ibn Maryam/Jesus, they believed in the Day of Judgement and other basic Muslim beliefs.  Many of these believers were also from Christianity, but didn't follow trinity.  and also from other faiths... But most of the people blindly followed what their fathers and forefathers followed, Idolatry/Paganism.(includes trinity) and others.  The kaaba in makkah had 360 idols inside, which many of them worshipped.  But MOST of them converted to Islaam from their own will after prophet Muhammad recieved the revealations.
