  1. NASA has some page on their website basically saying that Nibiru and the world ending in 2012 is a bunch of c**p, which is really what it is. They just say it in a very nice, modest why. Here, we just say its stupid flat out.

  2. I'm getting so tired of people believing Nibiru.

Nasa hasn't said anything about that stupid imaginary planet.  Do the math!  If a planet comes once every 4,000 years and currently is further than Pluto.  How can this planet Nibiru travel that long distance in 4 years!?!?

    THINK PEOPLE!

As for 2012, it is confirmed that our sun will align with the center of the Milky Way Galaxy.  What would this cause?  Don't know, that is why we are worried about 2012.

Will there be a massive polar shift?

Will the axis of the Earth change?

If it does, most of us will die.

Japan will sink under the sea, the Great lakes will merge with the Gulf of Mexico.  Earth will have to re-configure it's mass to fit the new axis.  Everything on land will change.

Lets just wait and see, ok?

  3. More than likely they said it's all bullsh*t.  Which it is.

  4. i believe the official response from anyone with a brain has been "LSD is still illegal, just so you know"

  5. no no you got it all worng about 2012 see in 1955 Einstein said  the poles shifted before and might hapend again now in another 2 billions years when the plates will form together it might change the poles

2012 is theory olnly if you are region cause all regions has one saying the world will end soon yes its posslible we not make it but dont worry about that it was a cover up also planet cant travel because of gravity if there was no gravity planets we go every were and all planets ahve gravity the sun has the most  comets has very litte gravity do to its sizes

  6. Here is one NASA page which says that it's all a hoax:

    http://astrobiology.nasa.gov/ask-an-astr...

I'm an astrophysicist with NASA  and National Science Foundation funding and here's my take on it:

Nothing spectacular will happen in 2012 (unless you count the Olympics in London).

It is just a myth which mysteriously propagates (mostly because of the History Channel and YouTube)

The Mayan culture/society/way of life is long since dead

Therefore as an end to "the world" 2012 was a wildly optimistic estimate for them!

And anyway – that is the wrong interpretation of the whole calander thing – it’s just the end of a cycle. And since calendars are based on astronomical motions of one kind or another, they are inherently cyclic. Our western calendar ends on December 31st every year!

Planet X/Nibiru does not exist. If it did we would have found it by now. We have mapped the sky in the infrared several times in the last 25 years (including WMAP, IRAS etc), and it would show up. It is not there. We would have found it if it existed. So all the nonsense about the return of Nibiru/Planet X is just that – nonsense

There is no scientific evidence for the existence of Nibiru

Furthermore, at the distance it must be to hit us in a little over 4 years, it would be reflecting enough light from the sun to be detectable.

Thanx to previous question from Brant and answer from bikenbeer2000, we know how bright it should be by now – it would have a apparent magnitude of 7.4 – which would not be visible with the naked eye – but easily visible in a modest telescope and would have been spotted by amateur. If there was a conspiracy to keep it quiet – it would be out of the bag by now.

Ask someone where it is supposed to be, get a pair of binoculars and look for it.

The videos on YouTube that purport to have evidence are disingenuous to say the least. They put together pictures of other objects (e.g. Jupiter, comets even a dust shell around a distant red giant star) and try to scare people. There is no validity to their claims. They present NO EVIDENCE at all.

As for the predicted catastrophes – the most popular one seems to be the Pole Shift!

The sun will have a pole reversal that year – it has one every 11 years – it is not a problem.

The earth’s magnetic field is less predictable –

but is still nothing to worry about: we know that the magnetic field does not collapse in the process of reversing polarity- if it did, there would be major extinctions that correlate with the geologic record for pole reversals - there is no correlation.

  7. a search on NASA's website on 2012 pulls up nothing on Nibiru, which sorta makes sense, as Nibiru doesn't exist.

    <edit>

you ask why are all these people talking about calendars and Nibiru, if it is nothing?  A variety of reasons, mostly they are really really gullible. Many are under-educated (like the morons that believe the Moon landings never happened.). Quite a few are trying to make a buck... selling books and such...

The Mayan calendar is nothing.  It makes no predictions that any almanac couldn't.  The gravitational effects of the Earth passing thru the plane of the Milky Way... is nothing.  Gravity doesn't work that way.  Pole shifts?  Come on.  Do you really think the Earth is going to flip over or something?  Grow up.
