What did Rage Against the Machine Do?

I love the music, but I hear they ACTUALLY take action against certain things and not just wrote songs of complaining. Can someone tell me the things they did?

They significantly raised the consciousness of a generation (or two) with their righteously awesome music and its core message of social justice and equality.

They definitely did NOT do it all for the nookie.

well I like RATM for both their music and their politcal stances.

They have helped out people who were on death row.

But the coolest thing they did was against the  Parents music research council or P.M.R.C. @ Lollapalooza. They stood *** naked on stage for fifteen minutes with duct tape on their mouths and PMRC written on their stomachs. That was COOL!!!
