What did early man need to survive?

I believe early man needed instinct to survive. I mean he had to figure out on his own what to use to provide himself with shelter,food,etc. They were warriors with others and them self and they were good survivalists.

yes you can go into more detain about what type of shelter {they didnt really sleep in caves} and you can say what type of tools and how they hunted and gathers their food
