  1. The Earth hour wasn't done to save power or show a drastic change in the global warming in one hour,it was originally meant to be only i Australia, but people all around the globe wanted to join the awareness program, and so people themselves volunteered to  keep the lights turned off for an hour at the same time, ranging from Fiji to Australia to America.

The point was to raise an awareness that buildings account for about one-third of the carbon emissions that scientists say will boost global average temperatures by between 1.4 and 4.0 degrees Celsius this century, now more people are aware of it,and more people are volunteering for it.Organizers of Earth Hour said that while switching off a light for one hour would have little impact on carbon emissions, the fact that so many people were taking part showed how much interest and concern at the climate crisis had taken hold. They said they plan a similar event March 28, 2009.

    Hope you got the point.

  2. It saved energy

  3. We did it in New Zealand and something like 90% of our power generation is carbon neutral, so the whole idea I think was stupid considering all the energy consumed for advertising it!
