One might have a close O.D. on a substance and think or feel he has tap into or experienced another higher plane of existence other than ones brain creating images or blackness with lights as it is in shock or something.

The blackness might be undertsood and philosophical and spiritul emptiness

  1. Some of the most intelligent, thoughtful, and enlightened people I know tend to also be people with a persona of quiet about them.

    1) Their are multiple levels of depth of conversation and discourse that we engage in given any one day or purpose for doing so.

    2) Talking for just talking's sake (just to hear one's own voice..) is just noise upon noise.

#2, I believe, Nietzsche would describe as a person who tries to escape, and puts on for show to others, his gift for gab.... when the content and more importantly the degree of depth of that very content amounts to but a cheap high, like cotton-candy... and in effect the pseudo-intellectual a.k.a conversationalist gets to hide behind the shallow content of his own thought.

  2. When a person is just talking about himself, he is trying to project something which is not obvious from this appearance or mannerism. Thus he is trying to conceal his identity by talking about his achievements etc.

  3. There is some wisdom I learned that says, "One can talk a lot, and have nothing to say."  I believe this.  People who are extroverts love attention and love their voice to be heard, but yet what comes out of it, has no real meaning or impact on others.  I feel like it is the other people who only speak when they have meaningful things to say, who should be heard.

I also think it is true that people do try and talk about themselves and tend to glorify who they are.  There is a lot that we hide on the inside, and only let a few people in.  And the more we try and put our "selves" on display for other people, we are holding back on the things that people would see as negative or weak.
