What did i do wrong?!!?

i came out of the closet this morning and told my best friend ralphie that i was a homosexual. he stormed out of the house and wont speak to me!! how do i gain him back?! he is my bff. i thought he would be more understanding

He needs time to deal with the news you have given him.  At this point, all you can do is give him time to accept/reject what you have told him. If he's truly a friend he will accept you for you.  Give him time.

You didn't do anything wrong.  He just can't handle this information - it's a big change in the way he sees you.  You can't expect him to instantly adjust to something that took you so long to discover and admit.  Give him some time to cool down and realize you're still the same person.

When making a big announcement, give people a little warning, don't just blurt it out.  Then give them some time to process it.

GIve him some time. Think of how long it took you to gain up the courage to tell him. He may need some time to readjust to it as well. If you have an email, send him an email and just say you understand he needs some time but you wanted him to know. Tell him he is your best friend and you really wanted his acceptance and say if he wants to talk or email or IM or whatever you two do a majority of the time, then you are always up for it. It may just be that he is too and wanted to tell you first. Or it could be that he's been raised in a family that believes it's wrong and is confused. Either way, give him time. If he doesn't come around, if it turns out that he's really turned his back on you, I am sorry. You'll have to be strong for the onslaught of "Why aren't you guys friends anymore?" and the assumptions that are automatically made about homosexual friends. Stay strong.
