ok so my teacher had us work on this evaluation sheet to see where we stand on our grammar and stuff.....well i had no idea how to do it. the sheet said all the sentences are incorrect, but they all looked correct to me. so i was just numbering my paper and after #1 i skipped it cuz i couldn't figure it out, then i coulnd't figure out #2 either and so on till i got to #10. im just sitting there trying to look busy, and then she comes to me and sees that i haven't marked anything on my paper. she ask me who was my teacher last year, and i told her, and she said you'll be ok and patted me. what the heck does that mean? i mean she embarrassed me, and a few other kids heard her and giggled. i mean i hate it when teachers condescend to you, like itll be alright and everything. i pretty sure she thinks im totally lost.i don't want to be that "special" student again where they need extra help, cuz im like that in algebra already.i mean i like my teacher and everything.do you think she's going to go ask my teacher last year about me or something?

  1. she thinks ur stupid

  2. That means in your current teachers eyes your teacher from last year is a joke, not you. This is just how some teachers are. They think you didn't learn what you should have last year. Don't worry, the work was to see what the class as a whole needs to work on. Next time laugh with them.

  3. Its possible she wasn't trying to be mean or offend you.  She might have meant that you weren't supposed to know all the answers and she intends to make sure you do by the end of the term.  Give her a chance and see what happens.

  4. Go up to her and ask her what she/he meant. And if it extremly bothered you ask her not to say it again that has happened to me and i went up to the teacher and told her to not embaress me and she shouldn't of made fun of me she should of done what she is getting paid to do. TEACH! And maybe you should ask the teacher for help so you do get it and you can work on it right. Then no one can make fun of you.

  5. Was your teacher last year a really c**p one, cos if your teacher thought that she could have thought well you will be ok after a few of my lessons, meaning shes a better teacher, and you are not to worry cos it was the previous teachers fault why you didn't get it, not yours.

  6. Just remeber, you are there to learn as well as to interact socially...there  is no shame in needing extra help. I wish I had gotten extra help when I needed it...be glad that she seems to like you as a student...take advantage of your opportunities while you can; you won't be young forever!

  7. she means your last teacher was c**p.

  8. she wasn't so much referring to YOU as to the question about the teacher that she asked. you really shouldn't read into what people say so much. a lot of times, they put no thought whatsoever into their words. don't worry about not being able to answer those questions. most likely, if you paid any attention at all last year, then the other kids that were in your class are just as lost as you. and as for what your teacher said, she probably only meant 'you had a crappy teacher last year, but i don't suck that bad, so you'll be ok now that you're in my class and can learn something". they aren't going to send you to any 'special' class just because you didnt do so hot on an evaluation sheet. those are just for the teacher to see where her class is at and what she has to focus on in her teaching. good luck this year! and stop stressing! :)

  9. teachers talk.

so if you stood out like that than probably

  10. well.. that certainly sucks.

maybe she is trying to be funny?

i have many teachers like that who just to it as a joke.

and maybe its her way of saying that you should see her after class.

maybe get help in resource or something.

  11. You have to understand some people need a little more help on certain subjects more than others.  That shouldn't make you feel stupid or anything, it's just that some people take longer to understand certain concepts.  I'm sure she didn't mean it to make you feel uncertain or angry or anything.  If you have some issues you'd like to sort out with her though, just talk to her.  Teachers are understanding and their whole career is based on interacting with students!  Maybe you can arrange something with her so that after school you get a little more help, or take extra homework some days in the areas of the subject you don't feel too comfortable in so you can avoid "special" help in the subject if you feel you don't need to!  Good luck!

  12. She probably will. Well, maybe you do need the extra help. I dont mean it in a bad way. Or maybe your teacher says you will do fine because she knows your last teacher sucked? Just try studying at home a little extra. You will get better.

  13. Some teachers also like to be parents in a way. Next she'll ask to see you after class and ask if everything is ok. If you dont want this just say yes and move on. She might talk to your teacher last year if you had a really mean one.

  14. CAPITAL letters, commas, periods, apostaphies-or how ever its spelled. are you sure they weren't run on sentences? i say dont worry too much over it

  15. i think that she meant that she thinks your teacher from last year sucked and that she believes that you can manage

  16. She's just trying to be concerned for you so you can be smart. BC it's not that your not smart, it's just that you need to learn more, and she was probably concerned on who was your teacher last year to see why they didn't teach you this. Don't worry, don't let any other students bother you either, it doesn' mean anything. Spend extra time with the teacher after class to get help, and learn more. No one will ever make fun of you again.

  17. She has pity on you because you clearly don't understand simple directions and you had a bad teacher which doesn't help at all.

  18. She meant that because you had that teacher last year, you should be able to finish whatever you're doing.

  19. no all it meant was you shouldn't have any trouble on the evaluation sheet. when he goes over it you'll understand and be ok with it because your last year's teacher was a good teacher and had you on the right track to be able to understand your worksheet(:

  20. She's probably wondering why you couldn't fill out the sheet. And obviously, you learned grammer last year...maybe she just wants to ask your teacher last year if you were struggling with this kind of stuff. But really, you shouldn't worry. I mean yes, she embarrassed you, but don't read on it too much. Everyone will forget about it by next week. As for your teacher, she just wants to help you learn!!

  21. Maybe she thinks that the other teacher sucks? No shame in any extra help though!  Gets you ahead in the long run!

  22. my advice is to ask your teacher.  she will probably be very open with you.

take the assignment you were working on, walk up to her after class and just say, "ms. ___, i was a little upset with what you said in class yesterday.  i'm not sure why #1,2, & 10 are incorrect would you mind telling me?  also, why did you ask who my teacher was last year?"

she will give you an answer, and if she makes an inclination that you do need extra help, ask her to recommend a tutor.

you should not feel ashamed if you do need extra help.  your teacher will appreciate your concern and effort, and work with you.  if she doesn't, visit your counselor and ask his/her advice.

    Good Luck.

  23. I'm a 2nd grade teacher and I take that to mean that she doesn't think too highly of your teacher from last year. It was quite unprofessional to say that to you. While she may not think highly of your last teacher it is not her place to make remarks like she did in front of the students. I honestly don't think she was directing it at you, it was meant for your old teacher. Don't let it get to you.

  24. First of all, relax.

I know it must have been embarrassing for you, but most teachers really do care about their students and want the best for them.

Yes, she probably will ask your teacher from last year about you- if you've had any problems with learning skills, etc.

She told you it would be "o.k." most likely because she doesn't want you to worry if you don't understand, which, from your question, sounds like you didn't have any idea what was going on.

I wouldn't worry too much about it, and, if your teacher offers to help you out, don't be a jerk about it, just accept the help willingly.  Who knows, you might learn something!

  25. maybe she thinks your last year teacher is a bad teacher and she's been having problems with all of the students who had him/her last year

  26. It sounds to me like she was giving you a pre-test.  This is a test teachers use to help them decide what to teach and how much time to spend on review.

I think you may be misinterpreting her comments.  I think she was trying to reassure you, letting you know that it was ok that you didn't know any of it, and that she'd help you catch up so that you would "be ok."  She might have been asking who your teacher was so she could know why you didn't know the answers- believe me teachers know who the good and bad teachers are.

As for the jerks that giggled.  There is nothing you can do about them except to prove yourself by being a good student.  As the school year continues pay attention and study, show them that you WILL be ok.  Oh, and DO NOT be afraid to ask when you don't understand something.  If you don't ask, you will never get it and that will impact your grade.  Someone once said, "He who asks a question is a fool for but a minute, he who never asks is a fool for a lifetime."

    Good luck!

  27. Don't be afraid to ask for help.  Be honest in your answers.  Improve your grammer by reading good books.  She'll probably ask the teacher from last year to help you and to see what she was teaching you before and how well you did.

  28. Some teachers shouldn't be teaching
