  1. regan? I had a horrible idea that Elizabeth Tudor was about to meet Ronald Reagan!

Clothes became increasinlgy flamboyant in fact the mens clothes became lacy and frilly and started to imitate the Queen's. Also it was a time n England of great enlightenment. Sadly, sh ewas the last Queen of England ( as opposed to Britiain etc)

Ruffs were worn by men and women, lots of cloth if you were wealthy to show it off. Peasants still wore hoodies. As we do today. They were knitted from wool.

  2. During Queen Elizabeth I's reign was known as the "Elizabethan Era." Clothing during the reign of Elizabeth (1558-1603) has always reflected the social status of the wearer. The cost of clothing is related to the type of fabric and the color. Processed fabrics such as velvet or corduroy are costly, as are satins and other fine weaves. Cotton, wool, and flax are common.

Most ordinary people wore clothes similar to those of the rich and fashionable people but they were simpler and made from cheap materials like wool or linen. Children were usually dressed in smaller versions of their parents' clothes.

Rich Elizabethan women wore a lot of clothes each day. They wore a thick petticoat. Over this went a corset and a skirt. The skirt was held up by hoops and/or padded at the hips. An outer bodice and skirt or a fine dress went over this and on top of that there was a dressing gown or coat, which went down to the floor.

Rich men wore a linen shirt and a tight-fitting jacket called a doublet. Over there was another jacket which came out over the hips. They wore stockings and padded breeches instead of trousers. Most wore a velvet or fur hat.
