  1. search lebanese food, thats exactly what they ate

  2. Food.

  3. Souls of there enemys. First of all, all Spartan males ("Spartiates") were soldiers. A man could not retain the Spartan citizenship if he couldn't (or wouldn't) fight, so the term "Spartan soldier" is a bit redundant.

The Spartan cooking was, well, spartan -- i.e. simple. However, Spartans used the same ingredients as the rest of Greece: olives, cheese, wheat, and barley. Fish, poultry, and meat were also consumed, although at communal dinners, these were generally reserved for younger men. Wine was allowed, but unlike today, it was "cut" with water; but this was not unique to Sparta, as diluting wine was customary in the Mediterranean region throughout antiquity.

Sparta's most unique dish was the so-called "Black Broth" (melas zomos). Although no recipe survives, we do know that it contained pork, pig blood, vinegar and salt. According to ancient commentators, the Black Broth was inedible to non-Spartans. In other words, it was such an acquired taste, you had to eat it from early childhood in order to like it.

Eclipser: the movie "300" is a very poor source of historical knowledge, so I wouldn't quote it on ANY aspect of Spartan life or society. Suffice it to say, although it looks nice on screen, Spartans did not fight in bikinis with their six-packs showing -- and no other civilized military force did, either. The lower abdoment is one of the most vulnerable areas in combat, and you can bet it was well-protected. (And so was the groin area.) Ancient Greeks EXERCISED in "heroic nude" (and that was truly nude, no thongs either) -- they didn't FIGHT in "heroic nude". well i saw 300 and most of it is historically corect so if u saw the movie then u no if u didn't then when they are very young they train hard as for food they probably ate whatever they could find like animals or provisions

  4. Roman people?

  5. The souls of their enemies.

  6. They never ate

  7. very sparse diet. much as we will given fuel prices and dismal  leadership and far less promissing future leaders.

  8. scascas
