Since contraception is only allowed in special cases , would that have been considered a special case?

  1. As far as I know, there weren't any Orthodox Jews living in China, and if there were, very few of them! Probably not enough for a minyan (quorum of 10 men over the age of 13).

    So it's a moot point.

  2. First of all, there's dispute about use of contraception, with only some rabbis being against it. Second, there are no Chinese Jews left--only descendants of Chinese Jews, who are no longer practicing. Third, the one child policy is only strictly adhered to in the cities. In the countryside, more are allowed (until you get a boy. Then you have to stop).

  3. Actually, there is a significant Orthodox Jewish community in Shanghai; descendants of refugee European Jews. The one-child policy isn't really enforced anymore - people who have more than one children are just taxed at a higher rate & do not receive government aid for schooling. There aren't really punishments for having more than one child, just incentives for remaining at that number.

  4. Ethnic minorities have different laws re One Child Policies

CHINESE ORTHODOX JEWS ARE A MINORITY AND EXEMPT FROM THE LAWS

See also: Racism in the People's Republic of China

There are 55 recognized ethnic minorities in China. Article 4 of the Chinese constitution states "All nationalities in the People's Republic of China are equal", and the government has made efforts to improve ethnic education and increased ethnic representation in local government.

    EXEMPT FROM ONE CHILD LAW.

There are also wide-ranging preferential policies (i.e. affirmative actions) in place to promote social and economic developments for ethnic minorities, including preferential employments, political appointments, and business loans.[73] Universities typically have quota reserved for ethnic minorities despite having lower admission test scores.[74]

ETHNIC MINORITIES ARE EXEMPT FROM ONE CHILD LAWS

Ethnic minorities are also exempt from the one-child policy which is aimed toward Han Chinese.

  5. also this policy is specific to types of Chinese. certain Chinese to not have to adhear to the law because they may belong to a people (like our native american tribes for example) that are dying out so they are allowed as many children as they want.

as for Orthodox Chinese Jews the only Orthodox Jews i am aware of are not of asian decent but European decent living in China for work and they would not have to abide by those rules.
