The correct answer is that they did exactly the same as they have done and will continue to do - NOTHING.  I find it interesting that at least one of your responders used terms such as "failed Bush policies" and "spectators" to explain away any negative reflection upon the democrats for our high gas prices and yet my bet would be that those who use such terms are guilty of having only heard the terms and haven't a clue as to precisely what speculators do or what policy Bush might have had on any issue.  Such obvious ignorance impresses only the obviously ignorant.

Why Blame the Democrats, when it was/is the failed policies, of the Bush administration?  I seem to remember when, the wars started again that there would be a "temporary gas hike" , since the Strait was closed for 3 days. That was what started the speculators up on their frenzy, that has not done anything but escalate, to this very day! Blame the Dems all you want, but if you follow the money, it goes right to the Deciders door. Think about it.

All these irresponsible elected officials should be tarred and feathered for selling out the common people. We have a president who is incompetent and does not represent the American public and a bunch of greedy scumbag politicians who only care about lining there own pockets. We pay taxes so that Levee systems can fail because we don't keep up with the maintenance and watch CNN and Fox for news reports about the flooding in the midwest???? I'm tired of this c**p!
