Were they blond or dark? did they have the same kind off shaped faces as modern europeans? Links to dna studies or fossil studies would be nice.

  1. They look like my former next door neighbor.

  2. Not that dissimilar to us. probably darker rather than fair but with some variations. It would be interesting to see some facial reconstructions done with the skulls.

certainly they have done this with  stone age & bronze age individuals, and they are no different in appearance to us at all.

  3. Both the cro-magnon and Neanderthals would pass as normal humans today. The Neanderthals were slightly shorter and more robust, but well within the range of human sizes of today. There noses were slightly broader, but again within normal modern parameters.

The Cro-magnon would look the same as any modern human, 30,000 years would not be enough to cause much physical change. By that stage they had been in Europe for about 70,000 years and had probably migrated into the different areas of Europe, and had various shades of skin and hair.

    .

  4. They looked like hairy, more primitively dressed, and probably not as clean, European Caucasians...

Probably brown-haired. and brown-eyed (Since blue-eyes are believed to be only 10,000 years old, or less)!

Blonde hair, and/or Albinism is probably much older, yet still, it is a recessive gene, as are blue-eyes...

  5. Human. A bit larger, stronger and robust then us

    OK here we go again.

Cro-magnon is a name no longer used. The Cro-magnon people were modern people. In 1868 the first evidence of their culture was found near the town of Cro-magnon, France. It was assumed they were a different species of human.

"Recent research over the past 20 years or so, however, has led scholars to believe that the physical dimensions of so-called 'Cro-Magnon' are not sufficiently different enough from modern humans to warrant a separate designation. Scientists today use 'Anatomically Modern Human' (AMH) or 'Early Modern Human' (EMH)... The more we learn about early modern humans, the less we feel confident about the early classification systems we developed more than 130 years ago. The term Cro-Magnon doesn't refer to a particular taxonomy or even a particular group located in a particular place. The word is not precise enough, and so most paleontologists prefer to use Anatomically Modern or Early Modern Humans. "

Cro-magnon is a term not used any more. Yea, yea, you same the word and most of us know what you're taking about. However, they were the same as us.

  6. This is no joke!

Gary Morse; he is probably one of the premier male voices in international music.

    Cro Magnon was...us!~

  7. Cro-Magnon refers to location and time period of early man.  Experts want to get rid of the word because people seem to think that they were some how different having their own name.  They did have thicker bones than us because they had a physical life.  We are a wimped down version of them.

In 1868 (during the construction of railway lines in Les-Eyzies, France). Cro-Magnon, meaning "big cliff," represents the earliest modern humans from Western Europe.

There is no findings of skin or hair so you can't really go there.

Did you know that Jean Auel came up with the name Ayla from watching a nature show where some primitive South Americans were chanting the word.  It also means "oak tree" in Turkish.
