  1. no...but each kid and grandkids had their own mini cake...we stripped them down to the diaper put something under the highchair and let them have it

  2. you could have a child safe backyard parrty make sur all non-child safe items can and should be removed if you dont have a backyard you can always have a party at chuck e cheeses and make make sure everything is supervised and try to keep any objects that are not child safe also take as many pictures as you can and make a big picture memorbilia and trust me it will be great

  3. For my older sons first I did it in Winnie the Pooh.  I had the banner, plates, cups. etc.  We didn't have any games, but I did have a pool set up, my sons baby activity center and some small toys.  For the older kids I had a pinata.  We made sure my son did not get any of the candy.  The younger kids got a box of cherreo's.  For the food we had pizza, soft breadsticks, cheesecurles, and chips.  I didn't give my son any of the pizza or the chips.    For a keepsake I took his candle, invit, picture and a ballon and put it in a shadow box and hung it on my wall.

  4. No games...unless there are older children there. We put on loud childrens music outside and got a jump castle. We also had a photographer come...and put him in a diaper and cover and gave him his own cake. He covered himself...and we got some priceless pics!

  5. I am a mom of 4, I would not do anything big on your childs' first birthday.  Your child won't appreciate all of the work and expense you put into a party.  I don't plan birthday parties until my children have entered preschool or kindergarten.   By all means, do something with your immediate family.  My hubby and I always took our kids to the zoo or a park to celebrate if the weather coorperates.

  6. Nothing considering I don't have any kids yet. But at a one year old's birthday party that I was invited to (neighbors), they had a small cake and candle, a few relatives and close friends over, and a few presents for her in the backyard. It was a cute little get together. :P

  7. well we bought presents, balloons and a cake.... he wouldn't open his presents, tried to eat the balloons and cried when we lit his cake :)

my best advice to you is dont get your hopes up that things will go as planned :)

  8. my baby isn't 1 yet...but for my neices we got a water slide and two baby pools, one smaller than the other. and we just allhad a really good time. and we had nachos and hotdogs with chilli and we had irthday cake and cupcakes and my sister painted this box and out her daughter's name on it and had people write notes for her baby that she could rea dwhen she was 18. just a few idas for you. good luck.

  9. The kids were mostly in the same age range - so no, we didn't do any actual games.  We ate adult food, but I had some younger kiddie snack foods out too, like cheerios, goldfish, juice boxes, etc.  Avoid anything with peanut butter or any nuts or other items that are on the 'no' list for those of that age.  Any adult food, keep at 'adult height' so kids wandering around don't grab something their mom's don't want them to eat.  Have a few people taking pictures (disposable cameras even) so that YOU are in some pictures as well and it's with baby, mommy and daddy all together, otherwise you'll be left out if taking pics yourself.

The 'gifts' we gave to the kids attending....I gave them each a 99 cent CD holder from Target (couldn't believe I found it so cheap!) with a CD in it we found for $$3.....moms loved it.
