I got a 1 on the APUSH exam and a 2 on the APLAC exam. I think I got a 2 for the AP English exam mostly because I probably did better on my essays than the multiple-choice part. I think that's why I didn't score a 1 on exam. I took a full-length APLAC exam from last year and I got a score of 36, which is a very low 1. However, on the real APLAC exam I probably score like 70 something or 80 something because that's a 2.

How hard is it to get a 3 on either of these exams?!

Can someone please give me the number rubric for the AP exams? for example, a 1-65 is a 1 etc...

Thanks! Hope you guys did great! ;)

  1. Getting 3's is not really hard, but to score in the 4-5 range is pretty difficult if you dont study. You probably didnt study at all I'm assuming

  2. Chances are that you didn't study the specific details of US History. To get a 3 isn't difficult, but a general knowledge from the 16th century to the present is necessary. This year's APUSH test was very specific on details which is why it was probably hard to some people. As for the number rubric on the APUSH test, its like this:

    5: 114-180

    4: 91-113

    3: 74-90

    2: 49-73

    1: 0-48

note that the numbers change every year due to a curve.

  3. The rubric is inside your grade report on the second inside page under "college comparibility"

    5- A

    4. A- B+ and B

    3. B- C+ C

2 and one are not given a grade however

    2 stands for "possibly qualified"

    1 stands for "no recommendation"

i Received a three on both but i took them last year. In english you can ethier get lucky with the multiple choice or it can be hard.

In history you really need to study hard.

The golden rule to getting a good grade: starting 2 weeks before your exams, start reviewing the material. Getting a 3 requires definately requires studying.

However, some bad teachers make it hard to even study. I had a horrible Bio teacher this year. She never taught us any of the advanced science, and it was impossible to understand the book.

    * Hey i read your additional details update.

Even with a  lot of studying the essays really come down to if the teacher prepared you enough. Good teachers will help people that think they are bad.

If your teacher isn't helping a study aid will be the best option. At book stores there are tons such as Princeton Review, Sparknotes, and Cliffnotes. THey have sections specifically for writing.

I also suggest asking really good writers if you can see their essays when they get handed back in class. It helps to see how they write.
