  1. That he retired before I started watching.


  2. His style was somewhat like David Pearson's. He did not always show what he had until later in the race and then he would dominate and win because he had saved his car while others were running all out.

  3. DW is one heck of a person.  I like the fact that he was ballsout racing.  No fear & no apologies.  Great guy still today.

  6. He was an aggressive driver, never feared banging fenders with the Richard Petty's.

  7. it was always exciting to watch I liked his victory dance after he won the daytona 500 it was very entertaining

  9. Back when he had the nickname "Jaws" and Richard Petty and Cale Yarborough was his biggest rivals. Loved it when they beat him! He was the "Kyle Busch" of the late 70's. Hated him in the 80's and most of the 90's. After 1997 he seemed to mellow out and became the elder statesmen of the sport. So to answer your question I liked his hard charging/don't care what NASCAR/the competitors/or the fans say I'm here to win the race attitude.

  10. I never got to see him race! But I think he's got a great attitude all the time and great character for TV he's real funny. He's one of my fave's!

  13. He was the Kyle Busch of the 70s and 80s.  Brash, and arrogant, he was awesome. Now he is good spokesperson for the sport.
