What did you pack in your bag?

I've read the lists online and from the hospital, but they all differ. I'm 20 and this is our first baby, so I want to make sure we have everything. I'm only 22 weeks now, but I've been put on bed rest because they're scared I'll go into early labour. I need to pack my bags, honestly what did you bring or wish you had of brought? Did you have to bring your own pads? I'm from Canada...thanks.

  1. nothing, I went from my ultrasound to the hospital, unexpectedly. My husband went home and got me and the baby a change of clothes and a car seat before I we got discharged. I didn't need anything.

  2. I'm 22 and from Canada, I'm 24 weeks along and this is my first. Feel free to add me to msn pupper_dawg at hotmail.

I've been told I do not have to bring pads, but you could phone ahead and ask the hospital.

I'll be bringing distractions, playing cards, maybe a travel board game, because if I have a long labor, I don't want to be thinking about pain in between contractions.

-Toothbrush (buy a new one, you're likly to forget your regular one as you're headed out the door)

-Cell phone (even if you can't use it in the hospital, in airplane mode you can view your contacts and their phone #s)

-Clothes for baby (even if you know the s*x, have something unisex in case the ultrasound technician got it wrong)

-Brand new PJs (because you want to feel good and comfy after giving birth).

-Hair straightner (I don't want to be a total mess for all the pictures relatives are bound to take)

    - Contact solution/case

    - Gum/Candy

    - Champagne (or wine, some kind of alcohol because I'm not breastfeeding and a glass sound like a nice way to celebrate).

    - Pacifier

    - Camera

  3. im 34 weeks and packed mine 2 weeks ago. i have:

    breast pads

towel for me, towel for baby

    flannel

    toothbrush/toothpaste

    hair brush

    deoderant

    socks

    slippers

    old pants

    dressing gown

massive long mens t-shirt to wear in labour

spare clothes to go home in

    nappies

    baby wipes

    bepanthem cream

    blanket

    3 vests, 3 sleepsuits, scratch mittens, 1 socks, 1 shoes, 1 jacket, 1 trousers,1 hat for baby

    camera

and ill be taking abit of money, some snacks

and car seats fitted in car ready =)

  4. I brought my own pads, but theirs were better, and longer; use theirs.

I packed my own nighty, my own socks, undies, nursing bra, toiletries, camera and video camera, clothes for me to go home in (although I wish I packed both shorts and jeans... it was June but the day I went home was cool.) I also packed his baby book.

for baby I packed a coming home outfit that he never got to wear...it was too big, a few other onesies, and two blankets. Make sure you bring a variety of things...I thought "summer" and was afraid he was too cold in just his onesie (all that fit him as he was small.)

be sure hubby packs clothes too.

    some snacks wouldn't hurt either.

  5. I am also from Canada, in the Toronto area.  Definitely bring your own pads, lots of underwear, slippers or socks, pillows, a watch, camera, snacks cause hospital food sucks, money, pen for all the stuff you have to fill out, a book or something to occupy you during your labour if it goes slowly.

For baby i would take, sleepers, receiving blankets, soother, diapers, vaseline, an outfit for going home.

    Good luck :)

  6. i'm going in to be induced tomorrow as i'm 41 weeks+11days now.

    i've packed:

towels for me and one for the baby

    sanitary towels about 24

    hairdryer

    hairbrush

    toiletries

some newborn and 0-3 months sized baby suits n vests ( just incase newborn is too small )

a hat for the baby ( you'll will need this for when the baby leaves the hospital )

car seat ( you also need a car seat as they will not let you leave without one )

some comfy clothes for you to come home in ( i've chosen some nice comfy like jogging bottoms and t- shirt)

    breast pads

    nappies

    baby wipes

    cotton wool

    you will need nightwear

    camera

    scratch mits for baby

slippers or socks as they say hospital floors are quite cold

and plenty of knickers ( i've bought about 7 pairs of black ones )

    think thats about it

    hope i've helped :O)

    congrats on your pregnancy :O)

You need clothes for the baby a bottle just in case diapers just in case! Its ok just bring what you think you will need you could also look at the website of the hospital you are going to go too and see what they say you need because every hospital is different! Good luck and Congrats!!!!!
