to me it felt like a man that wants a socialized country.the goverment in control of everything in our lives.free health care, but really its not free it will come from you and i,and you wont really have a choice in your doctor you want to see.he wants to weaken the army, navy ect. raise taxes.then his over the top stage and speech was scarey.it felt like when i was watching it, that it was like watching hitler giving a speech in germany years ago.the music that played in the end was like the type of music that would be played at a movie of hilter or a socialized country very creepy.and all i could see is people being brain washed and lead to the slaughter.

wake up americans.before its not the land of the free.

  1. You are certainly entitled to your opinion, however uniformed it may be, but you are not entitled to your own set of "facts," which are at odds with reality.

Obama is not proposing "free" health care, simply some kind of system under which everyone would have at least some minimal health insurance.  That will not prevent people with adequate funds from selecting any doctor or hospital they choose, contrary to your assertion.  What it will hopefully prevent is people avoiding seeking health care for fear of being saddled with crushing medical bills.

As for "weakening" the military, do you realize that the US spends more on "defense" than the entire rest of the world combined?  That's not even counting the "supplemental" costs of the fighting in Iraq and Afghanistan, which has already added another 500 billion dollars to the Pentagon's bloated bill.  There is plenty of room for cutting back without affecting the ability of the military to defend the US, unless you think that a world-girdling American Empire is a good thing.

Just so you know, I am a long-time student of military history, and I am by no means anti-military.  But military expenditures make up the largest part of the discretionary spending budget.  It is questionable whether the US has ever needed that kind of spending, even in the days of the "Evil Empire."  It makes even less sense in today's world.

Finally, as someone else has already pointed out here, political rallies the world over tend toward the theatrical.  Unlike the n**i rallies, however, Obama's was not demonizing anyone but expressing a sense of hope for the future.

And one last thought:  it always bothers me when someone tells people to "wake up."  The implication always is that the speaker sees something that all of the rest of us do not.  It is ironic in this case that you invoked Hitler, since one of the slogans of the early n**i party was "Deutschland Erwache," which means "Germany awaken!"  Think about that . . .

  2. if mcain wins im goin muslum....im not joking........lol i am jokin but i might move to mexico demacrats rule

    obama 08'!

  3. But didn't Barack say something along the lines of "no more communism=good" (wouldn't work anyway) and I think Sidney mccain (see how silly we both are, calling nominees by their middle names and lower-casing their last names) has that idea, too.

  4. I don't fear Obama nearly as much as what will be a "rubber stamp" congress, headed by those paragons of freedom, Pelosi and Reed.

They ARE the proffesional politicians, and they scare me more than anyone, Rep or Dem.

  5. Didn't find it like that... I actually hope he will win... and I'm sure he will change all these years of pure lies and 0 results... how lower can we go with this current government? And seems McCain is just going to follow the same path as Bush. Just my opinion.

  6. Nope...

  7. You must be talking about some guy running for president in your own little fantasy world because there's nobody by that name running for president in the real world.

  8. HIs first name is Barrack, not Hussein, that is a cheap shot and more representative of a petty, small mind than someone with intelligence who just disagrees with an agenda. What is even scarier is the past 8 years the current administration has almost destroyed the USA and everything we stand for. Obama represents change and any change at this point is a change for the better, and I have zero faith in anyone who has so many houses they literally cannot remember how many they have, that does not bode well for someone who wants to lead the country in terms of his memory and also in terms of the fact this current economy is in the toilet and very few can relate to having that many houses when people are struggling to keep one.

  9. Anyway, all "rallies", from the DNC to the GOP's speeches, to, yes, even the n**i rallies, follow a similar format, because they frankly look the same. There's a podium, and, behind it, a guy that everyone in the room already knows that they like. So he's free to express his ideas, remind you why you like him, and, yes, even go a little off the deep end.

All of the best politicians could potentially remind you of Hitler, because, frankly, Hitler was an extremely skilled politician. The only difference is that you happen to hate Obama and Hitler, which means that you're looking at them from a distance and find their popularity creepy, whereas, for a politician you prefer, you might find you yourself chanting his name.

please, for the love of god, stop calling him that. you don't call McCain by his middle name, what's so special about Barack's? To suggest that there's something important about Obama's middle name, that the name Hussein, one of the world's most common names, is somehow ignoble is just wrong.

  10. why don't you listen and open your mind for once? I don't think you even listen to 1 word that was said!

Why don't you call him by his name? Barack. How childish is that? As if his middle name had anything to do with anything. With such arguments, don't wonder why people don't take you seriously.

And it was country music at the end. If country music doesn't sound American, what does???

  11. Don't worry, relax. Obama won't win. Not after Clinto found all that stuff for McCain to use.

  12. You watched Hitler giving a speech in Germany years ago? n**i.

    And it's Barack Obama.

  13. I can't agree with you less.  I know I had "easy ears" here, and for me he was preaching to the choir, but in all honesty it sounds to me as if he couldn't please you if he offered to hang you with a brand new rope.

No, I don't think we are being led to slaughter.  Slaughter is what has happened to so many young men and women in the wrong war in Iraq, as well as to the people of Iraq itself, men, women and CHILDREN who were in no way part of Sadam's power structure nor of any insurgency, and least of all part of Al Qaida.

No, I don't think he wants the government in control of everything.  That would be the government that wire-taps without warrants, does data mining from innocent citizens, and wants to decide who gets to sleep with whom and who has a right to visit whom in the hospital's emergency care units.  That would be the government that wants to determine who must bare a child whether she is prepared to care for it or not.  That would be the government that wants to take my job and send it so that the food that should be going onto my table is put on one in India instead.  That would be the government that doesn't want to mess with all that cumbersome "oversight" business of a civilian control of military, so they "award contracts" to "civilian contractors" instead of calling them mercenaries and regulating them as they ought to be.

No, I don't think he wants to raise MY taxes.  In fact, I heard him say specifically that families like mine might get a tax cut.  I also heard him say that he wold remove capital gains from small businesses.  You do know that most first generation millionaires in the US today became millionaires by owning small businesses, and that the majority of the assets that make them millionaires are business assets that appreciate and are in fact "capital gains," right?

If music is creepy to you, then you might not want to watch the Republican Convention, because I'm pretty sure they will have music at the end of every speech, too.

It is indeed the land of the free.  I'm free to disagree with you, and work for the change I believe we need to get back on an even keel in this country.  This is a land where a man raised in Kansas can work hard, get loans and scholarships, and wind up influencing the direction our country takes.  This is a land where you can remain uneducated and inarticulate, but you really don't HAVE to.

I suspect your mind was made up about that course of action before you ever watched the speech.

In specific answer to your question, I thought it was well done.

  14. I don't think so...

  15. Yes I saw it and as a Non-American was very moved by his authenticity and obvious gift for oratory.I wish he was my leader. The rather politicised

and polemical conclusions you had watching this speech are at odds with the speech I saw.

Obama is you best bet to regain the spirit the US represented to the rest of the free world, which sadly, you have almost lost.

I think communism died out quite some time back as a workable idealogy.

Even the Russians call themselves capitalists, today.

  16. interesting.my mind conjured up the same vision of hitler raling to the masses in one of his rallies.

i especially got the impression when he would hesitate and bask in the cheers and applause with a smug look then continue the ranting.
