I thought about making him dinner in a paper dress and having pictures of the wedding on the wall in big heart shapes and "I love you" spelled out with a soundtrack of our wedding, but what else should I do? what did your spouse do for you?

  1. we didn't do the 'paper' thing. we just went out to dinner and then came back home and watched our wedding video.

  2. If I was a man....I wouldn't dig that at all. You know your husband better than a stranger. But most guys aren't that into stuff like that.

If you aren't planning a trip, I would cook him his favorite dinner, have some wine, and share memories from your wedding together.

  3. We are going to Europe for 2 weeks.  We want to go to Italy and Belgium for 5 days a piece, and then spend the other 5 in Paris and Spain.  Maybe 2 days in Greece.  Our Anniversary is in April.  We are just starting to plan it now.

  4. We're going to Orlando for our 1 year anniversary for 5 days visiting Disneyworld and Universal Studios, as well as some quiet time together as husband and wife.. We didn't get to go after we got married coz family and friends were still around and I wanted to spend my time with them more since they spent their money flying to see us get married.

  5. Is your husband the romantic type?  If not, this plan would probably not suit him as much as you...

We had planned to have a couple's massage (my husband had his first massage on our honeymoon and loved it) then go out to dinner where he proposed.  I booked the massage, he was supposed to book the dinner.

Turns out the restaurant where he proposed isn't open on Mondays (our first anniversary was on a Monday).  I was upset in that I had expected to eat there, and had he simply called ahead (like he said he would) or even checked the website, we would have known and I wouldn't have been thinking about it.  We ended up at another nice restaurant in the area.  But I still haven't been back to that place since the day we got engaged. :-(

  6. friday... 1/2 day work, dinner out, together at home, fantastic s*x.

saturday... sunbating nude in afternoon, threesome after sunset.

sunday... brunch out, together at home. fantastic s*x.

    dont judge... you asked!

  7. We went and stayed a very nice casino about 2 hours away. We had a wonderful suite. We ate at a great buffet at the hotel and then gambled and drank. The next day we went home and looked through our wedding pictures and ate our top of our cake. I got him a personalized calendar and he bought me a really nice card (paper). It was a great day. I hope you find something to do that you enjoy to celebrate your first year together!

  8. hmm i dunno that sounds kind of tacky to me, but you're the one that knows your husband, perhaps he will like the effort you made :)

Personally i would prefer the effort be put into a homecooked romantic dinner and a nice massage hehe

doesn't have to be all about s*x, but that's nice too lol :P

    take care and enjoy

  9. I dont get married til sat. but we had originally wanted to go on a cruise for our honeymoon, but dont have the extra money right now so we are planning that for our 1st anniversary! and of course we have to eat the top of the cake from the freezer lol

  10. Not married yet, but we've already started to plan our first anniversary. We're going to go camping in the cabins where he proposed. SUPER excited about it.

You guys need to do what works for you. It sounds like you're putting a little *too* much thought into something doesn't really have any meaning to you guys. Bake him his favorite meal, get a bottle of champagne for when you look at your wedding photos together or something.

Or take him out to the place where he proposed as well. When it has actual meaning between the two of you, it's more special than any paper heart you make.
