My knowledge of the constellations from Ursa Major to Pegasus improved. I've usually got my head in a scope all night. See any satellites? Anything else?

  1. I watched it with my husband at 1am for 15 min. We saw about 3-4 pass by… really fast. Looked like they were really far away. We also got out at 4 am and got to see one really clear one. You could actually see the tail for good 3-5 seconds. It was awesome!!! We saw some far away once a lot too. I have never observed meteors before and I think it was spectacular. The night by us was really clear and you could see the  Milky Way.

  2. I didn't bother to look.  It was overcast but even if it were clear I would have watched "Closer".  I've spent too much time on other nights that were supposed to have lots of meteors watching an empty sky.  "Closer" is guaranteed to provide entertainment.  Of course star watching has considerably fewer commercials.

  3. I only saw a couple of 'em.... we had thin haze, so it wasn't as spectacular as I'd like it to be.

  4. i have a telescope and seen saturn for the first time a couple of months ago (my friend found it for me though). I did see a great show last night with my 8 year old. it was a good time and clear skies. But it was a little chilly. Otherwise we would have stayed out longer. we were out around 130 am.

  5. Good question! Had a really clear night and saw all the constellations - even the dim ones that are usually tough from my front yard - and a great view of the Milky Way. I think that was the best, visualizing the meteors streaming in from the direction of the outer arm of the galaxy.

  6. I was outside from 1:30 am to 3:30 am and i seen 3 meteors, i hate stupid light pollution, i even went out of town and sat down on the hillside with my binoculars and i seen a couple other people out watching the shower but i personally only seen 3 of them, very disappointed.
