I clearly did not think either one of them should have won the fight..I know that griffin agreed to a rematch but I personally believe that they should have just taken the belt away from both of them because personally to me..that fight kind of disgraced UFC and MMA..I had a friend watch it for the first time and I personally felt embarassed because I was talking it up and then it was just a flop, I know both of them got some good shots in especially that kick griffin gave to jackson and kinda hurt his leg, but overall it was still just a flop to me....I just want to hear what any of you guys think..you may not agree with me but just let me know your thoughts..

  1. I think it was the right decision but i think the 3 round was judged un fairly

  2. How long have you been watching MMA? That was a great fight. Forrest was fighting a very techncal fight. He got caught a couple times, recovered and continued his tactics against what was considered the better fighter. Leg kicks, head kicks, hard hits, take downs, ground and pound, a slam, close knock outs, close submissions. Dude, what fight were you watching? It kinda sounds like you don't know anything about the sport and you only look forward to blood and cuts. The technical side of MMA is what makes this a sport. Great fight with the right decision by the judges.

  3. i have to totally disagree. it was a great fight and very back and forth. ur friend is just starting to watch ufc, so he might think that a great fight has to be constant striking or sumthing. And judging by how u only mentioned the striking aspect of the fight, let me tell you that both men constantly scrambled. they showed tremendously good grappling.

but the fight showed strategy on griffin's part, and maybe underestimation on jackson's part. It was a tough call as to who won the fight. Griffin stuck with his game plan to hit and move, and jackson also stuck to his power. even griffin acknowledged that he couldve been knocked out at any moment. besides, its a championship fight. 9 out of 10 times championship fights are gonna be good.

This fight might not have been the BEST fight ive ever seen, but it sure was a good fight. and it does not disgrace the ufc bcuz it shows that a mma fight is not a streetfight in a cage.

also, if u want to give ur friend a good impression of ufc, see if u can show him the chuck liddel wanderlei silva fight. also remember that the first round in a fight is usually gonna be boring cuz the fighters are still testing their striking range. the second round is usually the most exciting since the fighter have talked in their corner, and know what they are gonna do. After that its pretty boring cuz usually the fighters are gassed out.

  4. I agree it was a boring fight to the non-mma regular. It was way too technical. Everyone wants a fight with wild action and even a knockout. The problem is forest had to fight a smart fight kicking from the outside and rampage was not being aggressive like he usually is. I really don't understand why the ufc makes the fights so long for heavier guys. I mean it should be three 3 minute rounds. That way the guys can brawl all out and not be scared to go all out instead of trying to conserve energy earlier on.

  5. I actually thought it was a good fight...Did you see that upper cut from jackson! and the half-way done power bomb!..i definitely want to see a rematch

  6. Ya i have to disagree with you also. That was a great fight. Griffin showed some heart by bouncing back from a crushing Rampage blow. Forrest can definetly take a punch and give out some punishment. Rampage also showed some will power and brute strength by being able to get out of that triangle. It was a great fight to me and well worth the 45 bucks.

  7. I'm not sure what you were embarrassed about.. it was a good fight. Forrest did exactly what he said he was gonna do - Rampage on the other hand looked like c**p, he didn't push pace, he was only throwing a couple of one-twos than backing off. The only time Rampage looked good was in the first round when Forrest got knocked down after that though he really didnt do too much. Forrest went for a submission, controlled on the ground (Rampage just layed there, didnt even have him guard!), threw brutal kicks....I dont know what you think should've happend but I think Forrest won that fight all the way.
