  1. I thought it was great!  The reason why our neighborhoods and communities are the way they are is because of unjust crime laws. There are way too many black men in jail for non-violent drug offenses. Those men in jail equal black sperm. I didn't agree with the baby mammas and baby daddies getting married segment.  I agree with Erykah Badu's blog about her two kids and one othe way here is a sample:

    WHAT IS MARRIAGE ?

    WHO IS THE JUDGE?

WE ONLY UNDERSTAND THE EXAMPLES WE ARE GIVEN ( well sort of)

WOULD IT "LOOK BETTER " TO MARRY AND DIVIORCE AND MARRY AGAIN ?

WOULD THAT BE MORALLY CORRECT ?

WHATS THE DIFFERENCE ? the government's involvement i guess.

IDEALLY , IT WOULD BE EXCELLENT TO FIND THE MAN OR WOMAN WHO FULFILLS YOUR SPIRIT AND STAY FOR EVER AND EVER ( thru sickness and health till death do us part ) AND HAVE HEALTHY STRONG CHILDREN AS A RESULT OF A HEALTHY AND STRONG UNION.

(this CAN happen ... we need much training , however.)

IS IT REALLY "GOOD" TO STAY IN A RELATIONSHIP WHERE BOTH PARTIES ARE UNFULFILLED , LONGING FOR RELIEF , BRINGING one another down as a result of improper training , creating BAD ENERGY AND EXPERIENCES FOR THE CHILD TO REPEAT ?

(not to mention breeding deceit and anger and resentment )

SEEMS TO CREATE FEARFUL CHILDREN WHO TURN INTO FEARFUL ADULTS .

HOW MANY OF YOU GREW UP IN 2 PARENT HOMES THAT WERE MISERABLE AS F***K ?

OR 2 PARENT HOMES THAT WERE NOT PERFECT BUT WORKED?

HOW MANY GREW UP IN ONE PARENT HOMES WHERE THE MOTHER WORKED HARD TO MAKE SURE YOU WERE CARED FOR BUT SHE WASNT QUITE HAPPY?

HOW ABOUT A HOME WHERE THE FATHER WAS THE MAIN CARE GIVER AND DID THE BEST HE COULD -LACKING NURTURE?

HOW MANY OF YOU HAVE A SIBLING THAT HAS A DIFFERENT FATHER OR MOTHER?

DOES HE OR SHE MEAN LESS TO YOU?

HOW MANY OF YOU HAVE MORE THAN 1 MOTHER OR FATHER OF YOUR OWN CHILDren ?

HOW MANY OF YOU HAD /OR / ARE PARENTS RESPONSIBLE ENOUGH TO MAKE GOOD DECISIONS FOR YOURSELF AND YOUR CHILDREN ,THAT DONT QUITE FIT ANY OF THESE DESCRIPTIONS?

HOW MANY OF YOU STAY IN UNHEALTHY RELATIONSHIPS FOR FEAR OF GOING TO h**l?

HOW MANY HOS OUT THERE ... THAT HAVE KIDS TO GET A PAYDAY?

HOW MANY PEOPLE GETTING THEY *** KICKED AND ARE FORCED TO SUBMIT CAUSE YO MAMA GOT HER *** KICKED?

    THEN WHAT is CORRECT?

There are so many problems with marriage in American Society, people are always trippin off g**s getting married, nobody talks about the failed marriage rate of heterosexuals, the rate of physical and sexual abuse among married straight couples, and then these couples have kids and completely s***w them up!

  2. I don't really like this whole Black in America feature...everytime I check CNN, it's another story.  There are more than just Blacks as minorities in America.  And for those who want to see news, having to see yet another feature of the plight of the Black man / woman.  Not sure what this is trying to accomplish.

  3. I never watch CNN since it leans towards communist ideals.

  4. I thought it was very interesting and insightful, I learned a couple of new things. As the reasons why they said so many black women weren't getting married . . . I dunno if I buy all of it. All the heterosexual men (to include black men) are almost ALWAYS actively seeking women.

I loved the broad perspective though. Way too often people forget that "Black People" STILL covers a wide variety of individuals with their own thoughts, opinions and ideals.

  5. I didn't see it but I tiVoed it, how was it? I'm kind of not looking forward to it but I also hope it doesn't reinforce already overdone negative stereotypes, that's all I need because I'm on bedrest.

  6. Makes me glad I'm not living in america..if the black women are really as hostile to black men/ marrying black men...as they seem on that show...we might just as well become preists for all they care.

  7. I like the attempt but I thought the program was too broad.  It was a laundry list of problems currently facing black women/families but with very little real history as to the origin of the problems.  After the show I was left feeling why should America care? Many of the problems highlighted are not race specific even if a disproportional amount of blacks face them.

Since (in my opinion) alot of these problems can be resolved with the presence of responsible black men I will hold judgment until the second portion of the show airs ... but I'm disappointed so far.

  8. i'm watching it at this moment.

  9. It was very interesting. I appreciated seeing people work hard to improve their and the lives of others.

It also re-inforced the idea of dating men outside my race. (Black men are not the only "fine" men on the earth! I'm an equal opportunity woman! LOL)

I am also glad that people are "paying" kids to learn. This starts them on lifelong habits in learning. Also, in the adult world, if you do well at your job, you get recognition and higher pay. Why not apply that same principle to education?

It doesn't have to necessarily be money. I work at a high school and administration gave extra time during the annual Spring Faire to the kids because they had good attendance for standardized testing. Teachers also nominated kids for prize drawings because of their individual efforts during testing. (Hey, some of those kids got $50 for taking ONE test!)

It also helped me to appreciate my own mom who, as a single woman, did her best to raise me and my siblings to be the best we can be.

All and all, it had a good effect on me.

  10. It was OK. I did learn some things. I don't think anyone should raise their kids to be black if there are mixed. They should be raised as people not skin colors.

The statements you made to a similar question were 100% right.  It only enforces the stereotypes.

Why is it that all blacks are respornsible for everything all other blacks do?
