What did you think of the 8-minute insight into the London 2012 Olympics?

I thought it was OK but not much compared to the spectacular Chinese closing ceremony. It was different from the Chinese but isn’t that the point? China and England are completely different so surely we can’t expect the same?

i'm watching it now (nbc sucks) and you're right. its very different. london's portion is more pop and urban (what with the pop stars and break dancing) while china's portion celebrated more its culture. i personally liked the chinese one more because it speaks to the country's identity while the london version was just more like a typical concert. i expected like.. jousting or something. haha :)

IT'S GREAT BRITAIN NOT ENGLAND!!! WE HAD SCOTS GET MEDALS AND WELSH AND ATHLETE'S FROM ALL OVER THE UNITED KINGDOM: WALES, ENGLAND, SCOTLAND AND NORTHERN IRELAND!!! THE COUNTRY IS CALLED GREAT BRITAIN NOT ENGLAND.

Back to the question. I think it was fairly good. Ours isn't going to be like China's ours will be much more fun. China may of looked good on TV but if you listen to people there many say it wasn't as good. Many said it took to long to get in the site and that it only included the people with tickets get in and there wasn't good facilities e.g. big screens for people in beijing to watch. London will be one big party for everyone and won't be 100% scripted.

It was so bad. David beckham kiked a ball, a weird bus was there..... i mean what on earth was it supposed to mean.

BTW, the 2012 olympics aren't england. It's Great britain's olympics but then again, england will take all our taxes and all of the credit.

i agree but we will never be able to beat the chinese in the opening and closing ceremonies, they were amazing. but im sure we can put our heads together and come up with amazing things. i know there is a pipe band playing as my friend is in it and they are REALLY good, the sound sends quivers down your back. and our break dancers are good so thats something to bulid on. china have culture and we dont it is going to be so different but i think that will be good to have the difference so it wont be the same, hopefully in a good way though. i am just hoping we dont muck this up.

the dance the song they r just urban style i think it's OK

however..the mayor was totally disrespectful.

he acted rude..it wasn't casual,it was impolite.He didnt even take his hands out of the pocket.
