What did you think of the Calzaghe-Hopkins fight?

I thought it was kind of boring. It was kind of awkward. Their styles clashed and didn't make for much of a fight. But Calzaghe was busy enough to win. What do you think?

Not much of a "fight."  Hopkins started out pretty good, and I was very surprised to see him knock Calzaghe down in Round 1, and almost again about mid-fight.  But he was slow and not very busy otherwise.  Calzaghe, on the other hand, didn't have a very good showing.  He often looked almost comical the way he was punching/slapping/pawing "flurries" at Hopkins with the inside of his fists.  The "most punches ever landed against Hopkins" record is a joke for that reason in my view.

Hopkins did great on the earlier rounds, but he is too old to last long with the aggressiveness he have shown..on the earlier rounds, calzaghe's hand speed wasn't of good use 'coz of  hopkin's brawler style and managed to knock calzaghe down.

But later on, calzaghe caught hopkin's style, then turned the tide into calzaghe's favor. hopkin's land a punch, calzaghe's hand speed returns it three times.

Bernard show the world that Joe Calzaghe is not that invincible. Joe barely win a split decision from a 43 years old man. If they are same age Bernard would of win.

i thought it was boring too, hopkins clinched every chance he got,  they say styles make the fight, in this case they didnt make a good one.

I liked it, however I thought that Hopkins won. So did he! The woman judge had it right, Hopkins winning. I will admit , that I do love the British, and their fighters, what with all that chanting and singing, it does bring alot of the festival atomophere, to boxing. Also, it was a great add to the HBO linbeup. Bing on more HBO??

Hopkins is a lot like Ali after the third Frazier fight for a while, he has so much skill and smarts that he can throw opponents off and win some, but he is not an exciting fighter anymore. I watched the fight cause it was free, he ain't selling what I want to buy no more.

calzaghe won by out husling hopkins whos out of his prime hopkins would of destroyed calzaghe if he was in his prime calzaghe makes lot of mistakes he leaves himself open for counters throws wild sometimes but he is a good boxer who quick and has throws lot of punches

Hopkins had him down and hurt in the first and then backed off.  A younger fighter would have finished it as Hopkins should have but didn't.  Hopkins knows better.

Hopkins knocked him down and made him bleed but Calzaghe won on technicality.

Hopkins is boring right now bcuz his 43 and has past his prime and his facing Calzaghe who still has many fights ahead of him and could still dominate his opponents

im a Hopkins fan but he should retire, he has done so many things in his career with 20 title defenses in Middleweight, being a undisputed middleweight champion and he will be a Hall of Famer if he retires

True, Hopkins lost the fight but he didn't get his "azz kicked." I don't think I ever seen him get "beat up" even in his losses. Only weapon Bernard had was that lead right that Calzaghe figured out. Hopkins was too inactive to get a victory. I'm looking forward to Calzaghe - Pavlik or Calzaghe - Jones!

the fight never should have happened anyway. they just managed to make it very interesting.....made hype on it by b hop unleashing somwhat racist remarks....

i think b hop is not in joe c's league anymore. he's faded. i guess age did play a major factor.

but looking at the fight.....b hop got his *** whipped

I enjoyed it only cause it was on free HBO...I'd been sick if I had paid for it. Overall, it still showed in my mind that Joe C is overrated badly. His work rate was the difference I guess, but they were lightweight like punches. Compu Box number are fraudulent to me also. It had Bhop with 4 landed punches in the first round...wooooow. So, 1 of the 4 knocked Joe C down...go figure.
