  1. tacky.  the whole thing is a hot mess.

  2. The McCain's did not adopt...John McCain's wife  "surprised"  him with a new daughter. I did this to my husband with our puppy and he was not real happy about it at first. Kinda makes me wonder how John really felt about his new daughter.

I agree with Gershom...Smells like adoption fraud to me!

  3. McCAIN JUST TURNED HIS campaign into a JOKE!

  4. My fiance and I watched it last night and he commented on how uncomfortable she looked. I think if the Republicans are going to complain about keeping the Palins daughter out of the media than they should also be protecting the a-daughter as well and not use her to appeal to adopters.  Hypocrisy.

  5. I thought it was really gross. I was going to vote for him and now I"m not.

  6. I think, for someone who wanted to keep his 'adopted' child out of his campaign, he sure does bring her up a lot. I wonder, with Bridget sitting right there in the audience, how it must feel to be constantly reminded that you were once some pathetic piece of garbage that the McCain's resuced and lavashed with the upper class American life.

Similar to his POW stories, I think a 'heroic' man would not need to constantly tell us that he is a hero. I also don't think that your child's personal details need to be discussed in a political convention, in mass-mailed fliers, or in political debates.....it is simply inappropriate and ugly....and it reeks of pandering.

  7. I missed it.  I'm excited to see a President nominee who is pro-adoption, though!

  8. Why do they keep calling Bridget his "adopted daughter?"  I thought there was nothing different about being adopted....

Do they call their other kids their "biological kids?"

  9. That man is a saint!

Nah, just kidding. I don't think adopting qualifies one for the presidency.  I'm happy for the guy, but (yawn) I couldn't care less if he adopted or not.

Ok, I do kinda care.  It bothers me A LOT that he goes around telling everyone that he didn't know anything at all about the adoption. His wife surprised him. It sounds like he is trying to play both sides.

    A.  Aren't I great I adopted a kid from Africa.  B. Hey, I had nothing to do with it.

He keeps telling that story over and over, and if I were his daughter it would make me feel very uncomfortable. Gee dad, thanks for telling the world you didn't really want me.  I know he doesn't mean it that way, but I can't help but wonder how she feels.

  10. So what! is what I thought.

Would you rather our tax dollars be spent of fireworks and make-up or on the American people's needs?

  11. So is it easy for all couples to have one of them mysteriously bring a child home and finalize the adoption w/out the other partners consent? Thats what I'm wondering. I think McCain is a joke and anyone who would advocate for him because he "adopted" even though he claims to know nothing about it is uneducated on the situation.

    I smell adoption fraud.

  12. I would guess an appeal to nonwhite voters to appear friendly to other races.

  13. nice tie
