I liked the post cam ect last night......good angles ect.

I dont like the huge repulsive camera on the umpire....looks like he is pregnant with a crow on his shoulder......it would distract him from running lol.

but other than that, I enjoyed the new camera angles.

would you like to se them stay?

  1. Liked the ones on the goal posts and the interchange.   But I agree with you on the umpire cam.   Looked really stupid plus it was way too jerky.   Can't see it being a regular thing.

  2. There not that great really sorta blurry and a bag image hope they don't come back wasn't worth all the hype

  3. didnt like ump cam but goal post cam was good ... keep post cam

  4. new angles were like watching the Blair witch project

    total garbage

    umpires arnt camera men

    the angles were useless

  5. Whatever happened to those cameras that floated on top of the ground at the telstra dome? lol.

  6. The goal cameras should be brought straight in to the league as soon as possible, trial them for the rest of the year, then use them to make disputed decisions. who cares if it takes a minute or so, at least the mistakes would be eliminated. like they do for run outs in cricket, put them inside the goal post for touched balls etc.

as far as the other camera's they are ridiculous, make's you feel sick watching it, that other stupid thing that was on the wire going the length of the ground, remember?, that was stupid too, that's why it ain't around or no other station tried to use it.

  7. As a brief snippet at a bounce, I didn't mind Ump-Cam; but don't overdo it - audiences can get nauseous.

The goalpost shots were quite superb, as were some of the new angles from up high. About time the channels woke up to the new technology.

  8. well... the camera's on the umpires were really bad made me dizzy, the rest was alright i guess

  9. I dnt think they are needed. you couldnt see if they got the goal anyway. and as for the umpire cameras.... thats absolutely screwed! my head was spinning.

  10. I'm not sure if it's my new plasma screen, or the camera angles, but the match last night showed players appearing out of condition. I suppose the camera is a true image, however I suppose we will get used to close ups.

On another note, White dream team togs looked c**p, with every bulge showing.

In fact I thought we were having a back -in -history white maggots running onto the oval. And gee wasn't that a boring episode with the players running out one-by-one after their names were called. I went and made a coffee in that dull patch of bull dust.  As if we don't know who the players are anyway. Maybe it was a filler, because the spectators/home viewers are looking for a professional singer.

Gee, and look what we had to endure. Not even old Jimmy Barnes got the gig, or some old clapped out soprano, or tenor.

Can't wait for the real matches next week.

  11. The Goal post view was a good one, but the other umpire cams didn't really look that good.

Be good to see the Goal post view used, maybe they will try it in NAB cup next year

  12. I liked the view from the goal post but I have to say the footage shown from the umpires, runner etc made me nauseous and I had to turn away or be sick!!

I dont think they new camera angles are necessary, im quite happy with how they show it now.

  13. Good all of you in Oz got to see the game.

As usual, here in the USA, we were stuffed for television of the footy.

I am tired of whining, but when is Andrew the Rocket Scientist going to pull his head out of his a*se and market the game internationally to draw new supporters????

I do not mean for matches to be played in the USA, but I just want to be able to watch the AFL on television.

My b*tching is getting old, I am sure all of you on YA are getting tired of it.

Andrew, wake the f*ck up and care about the game. Otherwise, quit and let Kevin Sheedy be CEO of the league. At least Sheedy cares about the game, Andrew seems to only care about finding a way to take over North Melbourne and line his pockets with money. Remember, only Aussie dollars. Andrew is such an idiot, if he marketed the AFL correctly, the league could line their pockets with USA dollars, also.

    Andrew, you are flaming a*shole!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  14. Love the goal post cams, I think they re a long time coming but yeah gotta agree with the general consensus that the other angles were useless..

    Great game though!

  15. I thought the goal camera was good too but I have to agree about the umpires. I must admit that when I first saw them being kit up I thought that it was a bomb and that we could blow them up if they made a bad decision... wishful thinking, lol!

  16. Like you, I liked the goal post cam but as for the umpire cam I think that was repulsive.  Most of the time all you could see was the ground.  Didn't see the point of that.

  17. they didn't make a difference

you couldnt see jack most of the time, its useless

the post cam could help if its birds eye on the goal line to see touches n that... but it was pretty much pointless and useless

  18. i didnt like it too be honest, the umpires looked silly, and it wasnt that great. just let them play the game without that stuff.

  19. nah i didnt go much on them at all, umpire bounceing the ball who wants to see that angle
