although i was disappointed that the dominant truck (rowdy's) didn't win because of a transmission failure, the race itself had elements for everybody:

- rowdy fans got to see him dominate for almost the first half of the race, before his truck began belching smoke, and he stayed on the track just long enough to turn his black flag into a yellow flag - but to no avail. he still had to go to the garage and came back 18 laps down.

- busch bashers got to see rowdy drop out of the hunt with problems after 97 laps or so. many of them were applauding as he pulled back into the garage, almost backing into oncoming pit road traffic in the process.

- F1 fans got to see one of their own, scott speed, score his first truck series win. last year he was racing in monaco, now he's a truck winner.

- for the third week in a row - first time wins!!!

- KHI fans got to see sprague and hornaday finish 2nd and 3rd

the finish wasn't as exciting as last week's, but what did you think of the race?

  1. It was a great race, I've followed Scott Speed even before his awful season in the worst equipment possible in F1.. He's smart coming up through ARCA, Trucks, Nationwide, then eventually Sprint Cup....Look out Rowdy Busch, this guy can make you look lame.. He is a riot and alittle insane, but he has talent and can drive, I like him...He will be Wild Thang #2 once he hits Sprint Cup some day.. Congrats Scott on a great win..

    Go Dale Jr & Hms

  2. No point answering now.  You answered it yourself short of giving me the length of the line at the hot dog stand.  lol

    Next..

I was kidding of course.  Its 7:45 AM.  Don't mind me.

  3. Observation: When Kyle dominates, he doesn't win.

Conclusion: Kyle, don't dominate, just win.

Question: Is Scott Speed related to Lake Speed?

    Still, Good Job Rowdy!!!

  4. Oh no math! lol

I thought it was very exciting race and I agree with you. Out of all of the drivers in the race I would want Kyle Busch to win.

  5. I have to admit that the truck racing has been the most exciting this season.  Last night was more of the same.  First time winners are always fun to watch; their reaction in victory lane, their first interview after a victory, etc.

It was Kyle's to win or lose last night.  I tell you, if his equipment can hold up (tires especially) he's gonna be hard to beat this year.  He is natural born driving the c**p out the cars & trucks he's driving.  In the truck race last night he passed two trucks in one curve, passing one on the bottom & the other on top. Even Michael Waltrip couldn't believe it.  And when Kyle made a slight chassis adjustment during the first pit stop, the announcers couldn't believe it again because he had already checked out from the rest of the field.

I'm sure Kyle is going to lead a ton of laps the rest of the weekend, too.  The only question is will his equipment be able to stand his hard charging?

  6. All 4 laps that I got to see were ok.

    Great job Scott!!!

It rained and stormed hard enough here that my DirecTv dish lost signal from about 7pm to about 10 till 10 (central time).  Gawd I miss my cable!!!!

  7. I only have to add that Scott Speed is truly insane!  Detesting F1, I had heard of him but did not know much about him.  In these few weeks he's been dabbling in NASCAR, wow!  That boy is crazy!
