  1. this site has useful info from previous cruisers - http://allcruiselines.info

  2. I'll list the expenses in order, at least in my experience on many cruises...

    1. Excursions - could be $50-$125 per adult just to go shopping at port cities, scuba dive, go sightseeing, get on wave runners, go ATV-ing, etc. When we cruise, we usually book one excusion per port, except US ports.  That really adds up!

    2. Tips - this is going to run you approximately $100-150 per adult (the longer the cruise, the more tip you pay). You don't have to leave the suggested amount but these folks don't make much base salary and they do work hard to keep you happy and comfortable... tip well!

    3. Extracurriculars - This is the casino, pay restaurants, spa, photos, alcohol, etc.  Bring at least a few hundred for all of this stuff.

    4. Gifts - We don't buy a lot of gifts for folks back home when we cruise but most ports have really nice, inexpensive gifts for family members and friends. I would allot may $10-20 per person per gift.

    5. Travel - I know you already paid your ticket fare but parking at the pier for a week or buying airplane tickets and/or cab fare to the pier can really add up!! We usually spend about $120 to park on 6-9 night cruises at the pier.

Take at least $1000 with you for spending money and you'll be sure to have a great time!

  3. The casino!!!!!

  4. Tips of course, and then shore excursions were my main expenses. I bought a few souvenirs too, but not much. I'm not into shopping. Oh, I forgot, we bought expensive watches in Grand Caymen for about half the price  they cost in the U.S.. Yep. they are real. Be sure to try the Tortuga rum cakes too. You'll get addicted to those.

  5. Don't forget about the tips, but there were also stores, coffee shops/ice cream shops and things like that on board.  By far, we spent the most money on excursions off the cruise ship but it was well worth it.  We saw way more than we would have if we had tried to find our own way around.  Also, they don't always give you a lot of time so you really want to make the most of it.  (The excursions vary in price depending on what you want.  Usually the cheapest one was about $50 US per person but you will probably end up spending at least 75 per person.)
