Today is my first day of being a junior in highschool and I just want to know some things that you wish you knew when you were my age, and why this is an important year, etc. How do I make it the best year academically for me?

Thanks, and be honest and free about what you write!

  1. I wish I knew not to procrastinate.

If I would have kept up with my grades and gotten a higher GPA, senior year would have been a lot easier for me.

  2. I wish I knew how stupid it was to worry about what other people thought of me

that all the people I worried about liking me would be less that a memory by the time I was 16

I wish I did what I wanted to with confidence and did not care what others thought

I would have talked to strangers and spoken up in class

I would have realized I was there to get and education not a boyfriend

I would have participated in more sports and clubs and not been so shy

  3. Pay attention, try your hardest, get good grades. Especially if you want to go to college.

I found that making lists helped a lot. Helps you stay organized and get things accomplished.

Oh and join clubs it will add to your high school experience.

Good luck, and treasure every moment. In no time at all you will want it all back.

  4. I wish iknew that marks didn't matter untill grade 11 & 12.

Also that how you dress is overrated, and that kids thing their so "cool" when they are acctually stupid!

  5. Junior high is not going to be your best year lol.  I personally wish I knew how much of a moron my teach was going to be lol.

  6. I wish I would have known the importance of saving money early.  Remember your parents are usually right, you will realize this later in life.

  7. im a junior in highschool now and i wish i knew how to be carefree and do whatever i want, regardless of what other ppl wld think.

  8. How to give all types of Metal a chance no matter what they represent because they might end up being your favorite band. & when someone is trying to get your attention you pay attention to them & let them know your paying attention to them.

  9. wow i worked my a** off in 11th grade! i had a 4.3, at the time, i had decided that i wanted to go to Stanford, i also had 2 clubs of my own and a citywide program, and was involved in numerous other clubs/programs, i did the best that i could in everything, i wish i had known how to better write my personal statements for my UC college applications, mine were good, but as i look back at them today with what i know about personal statements now, i know they could've been more powerful, definitely be certain to write about very different topics for your personal statement essays, and be very artistic in your descriptions of various events (don't get too wordy though, it can come off as being a little too superficial..)

  10. I wish I wasn't too shy or embarrassed to join clubs that interested me.  It is a good way to meet others with common interests especially when it's a new school.

Also, don't be shy about asking "stupid questions"  in class.  Chances are other students are probably pondering the same question.

Also, don't be hard on yourself if you can't fit in with the "it" crowd.  Deep down inside, they have their own insecurities and can't admit to them.

    Enjoy junior high :)
