What diet soda tastes the closest to its regular?

Many people love diet soda or "zero" sodas for their lack of sugar, caffiene, etc. However, in my opinion many of the diet sodas out there taste nothing like the regular! What is your favorite taste-a-like?

Diet A&W root beer. No cola tastes as much like the full sugar version of what it is than that to me. Diet Mountain Dew comes in second.

I'd suggest sticking to regular sodas or just not drinking them at all, though! Processed white sugar is better than those artificial sweeteners.

Ya I was gonna say Sprite Zero, I really cannot tell the difference at all, only Coca-Cola made with Splenda is pretty close too. I personally like the taste of diet better for some reason. And diet Dr. Pepper I would have to  say is the worst

I once had a can of Diet Mug root beer.  I didn't realize it was diet until I looked at the can. It tastes pretty much the same as regular Mug.

Diet Mountain Dew is pretty close to regular. Not too much of a difference.

Dr Pepper for sure.

But I love Coca Cola a lot. So what I do is drink Diet Coke, and top it with some lime juice to take that 'diety' flavor away.

Coke Zero. When I first tasted it, it was just like the real thing. But now, I have gotten too used to it, and being a fine 'afficionado of Coca Cola' (if there is such a thing lol) I notice the difference.

It has to be Dr. Pepper. I have drank a lot of sodas in my day, and that one has to be the closest.

People have told me that several diet sodas taste "just like the original," but I can tell a huge difference in all of them.  I can't stand the taste of any diet soda.  Not Pepsi One or Coke Zero or any other.  In my opinion, none of them taste anything like the original.  But it doesn't matter what it tastes like to me or anyone else.  Just drink what you like, and don't worry about what other people like.  Everybody's different.

I think that diet Orange soda (any brand, even grocery store) tastes the most like the regular.  Diet Squirt is pretty good, too.
