I'm not going to do your Media homework for you, but I'll give you my opinion.

The first half an hour of Saving Private Ryan fills me with a lot of different emotions. Hurt, anger, sadness, and patriotism. It gives us who weren't there an insight into not just the physical pain that they went through on the front line, but the emotional turmoil of watching their new-found brothers die before them.
