  1. Really all i know is the names...Primary Seconadry in England and elementary and middle, high in america...that sort of stuff

  2. Location, the most "exciting" is the one that really teaches

  3. American schools have their ups and downs.  depending the school and its rules students don't take school seriously, you will often see them disrespect teachers, fights, some would skip school. no matter how strict a school may try to be students don't see that as a threat. I'm not sure about English schools because I'm not English, but  that's what you may see in SOME American schools. but hitting students with rulers.in America that's the biggest NO NO ever. teachers CAN and WILL get sued for that. maybe they do that in catholic schools but not public American schools.

  4. Im English and have just finshed school, although I do hope to return to continue in 6th form (taken from the age of 17 to 18) - equivilant to American high school I believe.

They differ only in how American culture differs to English.

I would say things are more strict in English schools. Each school has a set uniform that must be worn, where as in American schools it seems students come in with their normal clothes?

Uniforms tend to improve concentration in class and discourage bullying (if everyone is wearing the same uniform then everyone is closer to being equal).

Physical abuse is an absolute NO. Teachers can be and have been sacked for disciplining students through "physical assault" as a wack on the hand with a ruler would be referred to here. Worse than that, they can go to court for it.

  5. english schools: "public" means its only open to those who can pay, not the public. and u have to wear uniforms in the public schools i think. in america public schools are open to the public.

  6. Well, if what I see on the TV is correct, they don't hit people with rulers as much in American schools.

  7. I went to school in wales school but tis the same as english and I'm assuming by english school you mean british schools. I definately think there is less of the seperate social groups americans seem to have (popular cheerleaders, nerds etc) In our school we had different groups but they merged together, like nerds could be popular aswell. There is basically 2 main groups though and that is Chavs...and everyone else. The chavs stuck to their own group and did not merge at all.

Chavs have no respect for teachers and are generally disruptive, fight each other, bully any non-chavs and hate all teachers.

Everyone else is generally well behaved and respects teachers, unless the teacher is in some way unfair to the class and then all h**l would break loose and the class would proceed to bully or petition against the teacher until they resign or got fired.

School was rough but if you survived it you came out a stronger person.
