What dirt bike should i get?

well i will have about $1,600 to spend on. im 16 height:5,9 213lb. begginer but not afraid of power. im looking for a dirt bike that i will not have to worry about fixing and can take abuse(jumping,wheelies,races) and is very reliableand will go 55mphsound to me like i would want a 4 stroke. i hear honda crf150s are good and you can find for $1,400. so plz tell me what is the best for me. thanks

your 16 so get either a crf 150 or a 250cc, with a 250cc you'l never get bored with it and will see you out for quite a few years

I agree with the other dude by looking into 2 stroke 125's but dont be phased with the put down of certain bikes.

Kx 125's are awesome bikes i have one they handle great and the power+speed is sensational.... thats an 84' model too!

If you will be doing jumping though i strongly suggest a 2 stroke, they are built for it a 4 stroke is a little too heavy and akward with jumping, You will get a lot more kick out of too

2000 or newer 250cc 2 stroke will haul you anywhere you want to go. Honda XR250 4 stroke is nowhere near as fast or light, but is bullet proof.

I have both and all beginners like the Honda.

I like the Honda most of the time also.

If your looking for easy to maintain and cheap to maintain go 2-stroke. Get a 2001 or newer 125. It'll have plenty of power for you to learn on. Motocross 4-strokes become very expensive to maintain and if you want to upgrade parts the price is steep. Example, a 2 stroke exhaust pipe and silencer will run around $350; a full system 4 stroke exhaust will run anywhere from $600-1200. For a beginner get a 2 stroke, they are much more forgiving when slipping the clutch and so on. Stick to a YZ, RM, 125 SX (KTM easiely has the strongest 125 motor) or CR 125 (although cr125's are notorious for weak motors) or 2002+ KX 125 (the 99-2001 KX125's handle horrible, trust me I had one of each.)
