  3. People are most often infected by a nematode paracite known as trichanosis. It lives in raw pork and can survive freezing and some cooking. Curing usually kills the paracite, but it leaves little round holes in ham. Such pork is called "measly".  The only other infectious organisms associated with pork are bacteria like salmonella and some disease causing strains of E. coli.
