What disease do you get if rust gets into your body?

If you eat breakfast cereals you already get rust in your body as most have added iron in the form of iron oxide (rust).

If you are talking about what happens if rust penetrates your skin, if it is clean, your body will absorb it over time probably with little effect.

If you are talking about a puncture wound from the proverbial "stepping on a rusty nail", all sorts of nasty infections can ride in - most notably tetanus - and since it is a puncture wound they usually don't bleed enough to wash the infection out. The rust in this case matters not at all.

Tetanus- if you are current on your tetanus vaccination you should be ok, but if you have any question you should seek medical help. Tetanus can be fatal if not treated. The typical vaccination last for 5 years.

tetnaus. if you haven't had your shots, go see your doctor, now. this is big. unless you're talking about taking an iron supplement, then i think you're fine. i think you're speaking of being cut by rusty metal though..

you'll probably just get sick...its like swallowing a nail...its not that big of a deal unless it had like some sort of weird virus on it,which is doubtful...you will most likely just feel a bit sick,but if it gets really bad then you should probably go to the hospital

you can get lock jaw were your jaw swells and wont move so you better go to the  hospital if you feel any pain within 2 days of the ingestion
