Question:

What dish should I take my friend's birthday party?

My good friend is having an informal hang out with just a few close friends to celebrate her birthday. I was originally planning on taking cupcakes to the shindig because she usually makes this popcorn and marshmallow and m&m cake, but she decided to make this big layered cake-cake instead, so there's no point in taking cupcakes.

But I already promised I would bring some treat, so what do you think would be appropriate?

  1. sounds like a have fun pig out sweets night...so i say magic bars

  2. You could take some rice crispy treats or take some ice cream to eat with the cake.  Make some chocolate covered pretzels. Anything like that would be great.

  3. Special dip that she may not make herself and unusual things to go with.  eg. pesto mixed into sour cream dip served with grape tomato, small chunk buffalo mozzarella and a leaf of basil artfully placed on a tooth pick, or artichoke asiago dip with parmasan bread sticks and thick red pepper strips.  You can mix two complimentary dips together and keep the dip goodies interesting but streamlined.

Also, truffles are always nice and choc dipped strawberries.

Bottle of liquour or champagne to go with cake?

A chunk of great cheese and some crackers

  4. GET EM SOME JR. WHOPPER'S FROM DA BK IT BE COSTIN U ONLY A DOLLAR A POP, CANT GET NO BETTER DEAL THEN THAT U KNA MEAN? YE TRY IT I PROMISE U WILL HAVE DA BEST TREAT THERE

    BEST O LUCK

  5. Cut up veggies and dip. I recommend veggies such as baby carrots, bell pepper strips, celery sticks, and cauliflower florets. try Marzetti's ranch dip, it's so good! Put the dip on ice, but the veggies will stay fresh for hours. Just cover with Saran wrap to keep bugs off. Trust me, this always goes over great!

  6. cant go pass honey crackles:

    Ingredients

    90g butter or margarine

    1/3 cup sugar

    1 tblsp honey

    4 cups Corn Flakes

    Method

    1. Preheat oven to 150 degrees.

    2. Melt butter, sugar and honey together in a saucepan until frothy. Add corn flakes, mix well. Spoon into paper patty cases.

    3. Bake in a slow oven for 10 mins.

    Makes about 24 honey crackles.

  7. i honestly think cake will be enough so u could bring ur favorite drink or if ur desperate then you could bring ice cream for the cake...... or just other small sugary snack foods.....

  8. Mixed fruit bowl, finger sandwiches, Chex Mix, nuts, crackers, appetizers, chips n salsa, vege's with dip, most any type of finger food.

  9. Jackson O's trust me, its a sweet treat and a suprise inside (for kidz)

  10. I think that I would forget about taking something sweet because you will have the cake to eat.  What I usually take to get togethers is this dip and it is very simple.

2 medium cans of Hormel Chili without beans (somewhere around 18 oz sorry I don't know the exact measurement, but it is either 16 or 18 larger than your normal soup can)

2 packages of cream chesse (8 oz)

1-2 large bags of tortilla chips

( the recipe is basically 1 can of hormel chili to one package of cream chesse---just depends on how many people you have going---the recipe above is what I would recommend for you and a few friends)

empty hormel chili into a crock pot and add cream chesse set on high (make sure to stir often) once cream chesse is melted turn to low and dip tortilla chips in and enjoy.....you can also add some velveta chesse into this also but it is sure to be a favorite with or with out it and it is simple......trust me.
