I'm a college student and don't get to eat out much...so when I get the opportunity to eat out somewhere new I don't just want basic chicken or steak or fish...it should be something a little different from what I can make at home. So, I picked out somethings from the menu that either I've never had before OR don't get to eat regulary. Oh, and I like EVERYTHING edible, honestly. Which dish sounds best?

APPETIZER:

-Charcuterie plate

-Goose liver pâté

....I've had their escargots and mussels before (which were awesome) but ive never had this other stuff...is goose liver and charcuterie good?

MAIN DISH:

-Whole baby hen twice-roasted with fresh herbs, with chorizo and red pepper grits

-Kurobuta boar loin, braised with garlic confit, bacon and served on a nest of white beans

-Lamb merguez sausage with French green lentils

-Duck confit on wild rice with lingonberry jus

-Succulent house marinated pork tenderloin fire roasted and served in the Mediterranean style

  1. goose liver.

i would go with duck confit for sure (duck is sooo flavorful), but the baby hen sounds really good too.

  2. App: I'd pick the Charcuterie plate..whatever that is. Goose liver sounds pretty nasty.

Entree: I always go with the pork, but I guess it's whatever you like there. It all sounds amazing.

  3. Well I don't know, which dish you should order, but I would try something that sounds the best out of then all!!!!!

  4. I would ask when youre at the restaurant, what their charcuterie plate consists of, as it could be many different things.  It will likely be a platter of cured meats such as ham, and perhaps some sausage.  Sounds nice!   Goose liver pate is delicious.

For the main course I think Id be be tempted to go for the kurobuto pork loin, as it's renowned for its delicious flavour and tenderness, due to the marbling of fat in the meat.  It says boar which is misleading, making one think it's wild boar, but it's actually a pig descended from a Berkshire pig breed.     I think this option looks more interesting than the house marinated pork.    Lamb is good, but a sausage when a meal out is a treat... nah.    Duck confit I had once and didnt like.      You can take a look and see what you think.  I don't even think wild rice seems like a good partner with it.

Anyway, hope you have a great meal whatever you chose, let us know what you had when you choose the winner!!
