What disqualifies you from being bonded?

I have an old shoplifting charge from 18 years ago and I am applying for a teller postion at a bank. Will I be able to be bonded? Or should I just call it quits?

  1. You should hire a lawyer to get the old charge dismissed and/or expunged from your record.

  3. They're going to do a backround check, and assuming you were over 18 when it happened, you're not going to get offered that job.  

    Regardless of the bonding thing, their employee theft coverage won't cover them, if any of their employees have a record.
