I was making jelly and it overflowed onto the eye of the stove. I have a ceramic stovetop. What solution can I use to dissolve off the burned on sugar?

  1. yup, soak it with water.  you can keep rewetting the rag and rubbing it off a bit at a time til it's gone.  sugar disolves in water--the hotter the better.

  2. Soap and water and a steel wool scrubbing pad.And lots of elbow grease

  3. Put a dish cloth over the spill and really saturate it with water.  Let it soak for a couple of hours.  Once it's softened a little bit a Mr. Clean eraser should take care of it without scratching your stovetop.  Good luck!
