  1. I vary it between the 2 second rule or the 1 car length/10 mph, depending on the weather. Unless I run up on Robby, in which I go into Mad Max mode.

  2. No one really folows this, but the rule is to be a safe distance away from another car you need to be 1 car apart.

  3. It's called the two second rule.  It should take you two seconds to pass something the car ahead of you passed.

  4. At least one car length, unless the weather is bad.  Then I stay at least three behind.

  5. depends on

1.how slow they drive(below speed limit or even at it somtimes)

2.what road(interstate i stay back farther because faster speeds need more time to stop

3.what my mood is at the time lol

but dont drive up their *** that makes them go slower and if tehy hard stop you may not have the reaction time to stop

  6. I like a lot of space between me and the car in front of me.  I would say I am a good fifty feet behind them.

  7. Six seconds. Meaning as the car in front passes an object like a mile marker or tree count off six seconds. You should be passing that same object six seconds after the car in front passed it.

  8. 1 car length for every 10 MPH.

  9. 2 seconds.

When the car passes a pole I should have 2 seconds before I pass it. That's the ideal distance. Lower speeds you can get a little closer.

  10. Two full seconds is the right answer. Too bad that is also enough for some idiot to squeeze in in front of you so you have to start the count all over again.

  11. 20 yards ?

  12. Depends how pissed off they made me and how traffic is and if im in a rush and if they are a bad driver

  13. Depends on the braking cabability of your vehicle and the current road conditions.  A good rule of thumb is a full two seconds, but that will vary.  For example, a heavier vehicle will take longer and you should extend that.

  14. I dont like to ride people butts unless there is traffic. While driving i stay far enough back that I can see the bottom of their tires

  15. The length of a car for every 10mph, like I'm supposed to.

  16. In California, one should try to maintain two car lengths between your car and the car in front of you.
