  1. Diversity in communities is disappearing fast. With modernisation, liberal attitudes to wards s*x and material pleasures, relgion is loosing its grip on society. The future of community will be only demarcated as associations of men, women and g*y.As regards lanuguage ,with globalisation,English is emerging as the only world language.

  2. Diversity means that no one group, ideology or culture dictates the norms of how others should think, feel and behave based on their own social contructions. For me it has nothing to do with trying to "balance the books" in terms of race, gender, sexuality, ability status or other ways members of a society are seperated out.

It's difficult to conceptualize it happening in the US as people are very much suspicious of any "outsider". Nevertheless in order for a society to remain solvent, diversity must exist even if only to keep group think in check.

  3. Diversity is necessary to facilitate helpful skills such as understanding, acceptance, a tolerance towards differences in culture and beliefs that sparks curiosity and opens the minds of people.  "Can't we all just get along?"

Unfortunately, we cannot.  Communities have always banded together, one weeding out another until a like minded community is formed.  This has happened in societies throughout history, there is no evidence that it will change.

People seek others just like themselves, and bully out those who are different.

  4. Well, I could be wrong, but I believe diversity is an old, old wooden ship that was used during the Civil War era.
